greatly has it improved within the past

It is probable that the first oar load of
cantaloupes will be shipped from Albany
on Friday. Several of the growers who
.have large pkwtinga near. the oity will
combine, and,,by taking tjje,.ripest mel
ons from tbeir vines make np a fall oar.
Next week, shipments well become gen
eral. The first car of watermelons from
this point will also probably go forward
this week. No, single grower will be
able to make a shipment, bnt, like the
oantaloupe men, several will combine to
make up a oar.
By tbe last ot next week watermelons

growers are unusually sanguine, for*
while their orops are short as oompared
with past years’, prices are expeoted to
be better. i
There is no general idea among tho
growers as to the manner of disposing
of their crops. Some will seUtoQom-
