of Mr. Jeff Glozier’s house in the Up-
per fifth-district some three weeks ago
by iucendiaries. It seems to have been
ignited by using kerosiue oil and was.a
villainous piece of work. It. is to be
hoped the perpetrators of the deed will
be ferreted, out and punished.

by request, agreed to-visit Perry

nights of next week, and givo; three of
their interesting performances at Cook’s
tfail for the benefit of the Library As
sociation. They are producing all the
standard dramas and Jate successful
plxys, such as usually can only be seen
in large cities. The press of South
Corolina and Georgia speak in glowing
terms of this compimy. On Wednesday
night they will render The Child Steal
er, a drama of rare dramatic and sensat
tional interest. They played this piece
in Atlanta before a large a jidfeucB -and
received a splendid notice from the
Constitution.

pauper named Wright Tomlin, who says
he is 1Q8years old- He is a tolerably lively,
clear headed old darkey for one of his
years, and on cross examination we are
satisfied he is near one hnndred years
old. He says he was horn in Jeffepson
County, belonged when-young to Short
necked Tom Harvey. -He was brought
Twiggs County in 1801 by Jno. TojnliD.
He says he never was Geo. WasLiugton’s
cc .achjnan. He tells many interesting
-incidents in regard to the Indi
ans, and a visit to Yirginia
with l:is matter, Shoitnerk Tom Har
vey, shout the year 175,0. He has had
five wifes, eighteen children, fifty-seven
grandchildren, and down to great, great,
great grandchildren his dcrpendents
nnmber over two hnndred, bnt he has
not been able to keep up with them all,
and would not know ever fo~ty of fifty
