cial opinion of George F. Short, state
attorney general, that there is no
precedent authorizing the changing of
an announced date for an ejection will
not alter plans to stop a special state
election at which a question would
be submitted opening a way for the
legislature to hold an- Impeachment
session, Governor J. C. Walton declar
ed. >
“The attorney general has been,
asked for no opinion by the chief ex
ecutive,’’. Governor Walton- said; “His
unofficial opinion is unmaterial and
has no legal weight whatsoever..

Six Lives Saved in Year By Scouts
Thomasville.—The report of Secre
tary L. Hommadieu of the Thomas
ville Y, who lias had charge of the
life-saving corps of the boy scouts,
shows that forty life saving tests
have been given to the boys and
that sLx have been saved sinco the
boys were trained last year at St.
Marks on the gulf, while the boys

representative of the Red Cross, who
has been in Thomasville recently.

Lincoln County’s Best Fair Closes
Lincolpton.—The Lincoln . county
fair came to a dose recently,' ending
•the greatest fair ever held In the
county. Over one hundred prizes
were offered In the fair, and the ex
hibits were so many, so varied and
; so fine that a carload of them will, be
taken to Atlanta to exhibit at the
Southeastern fair. The agricultural
exhibits were so good that ono ol
the men of the State College of Agri
culture, Q. V. Cunningham, declared
in an address here recently that they
were equal to those of the state fairs.
