Tribute To Perry’s
Jr. League Coaches
This has been a fine season
and an enjoyable one for
many. I’m sure all the boys
and parents join me in
thanking the workers at the
concession stand, the um
pires, the score keepers and
coaches for their time given
Summer comes, school is
out,
Here ’n there kids are about.
With this fun filled season
here,
“Batter up! ” fills everyone’s
ear.
Days crowded with little
boys,
Play-things now aren’t wind
up toys,
For every lad from nine to
twelve,
Baseball, baseball, is what
they live.
Here’s to those men who
strong of will,
Teach small boys with
marked skill,
To bat ’n bunt’n run ’n
throw;
All the things Little
Leaguers should know.
Yes, those guys we love and
hate,
Give their time and face
their fate;

Beavers Ins., Tolleson,
to our summer program. I
think Mrs. Frances Whitten
sums it all up in this poem
which she wrote and gave to
all the coaches of the Super
Foods team at their cook out.
She agreed to share it with
us.
Do their best through think
and thin;
Take the ’n try to
grin.
But may I say now, once and
for all
Whether they’re short or fat
or tall,
These great guys, these
unselfish men,
Who give of themselves, lose
or win,
Are the nicest of the nice,
The bravest of the brave,
To face irrate parents;
To serve without pay;
To boost the hopes of
tomorrows men,
And teach them the right :
way
Lose or win.
