Dewey Whiddon Agency, was
elected Vice President of the
Georgia Chapter of the
National Farm and Land
Brokers of America. Mr.
Whiddon is a graduate of the
University of Georgia and
earned a Degree of
Agriculture. He taught
Agriculture in Perry High
School for sev/en years. He
was also Material
Management Officer at
Robins Air Force Base for
seven years before entering
real estate in 1964
Mr Whiddon has taught
Sunday School for fifteen
years at the First Baptist
Church in Perry. He has
served two terms on the
Bank Os Perry’s Norris
Graduates With Honors
At Ga. Banking School
Mary Ann Norris, Branch
Manager of the new Grant
Plaza Office of The Bank of
Perry, has graduated from the
Georgia Banking School at
Athens with honors. During
her senior school session, May
19 24, 1974, Mary Ann was one
of three seniors selected to
give a speech at the school’s
Award Luncheon For her
speech, “Public Relations and
Banking", she will receive a
plaque. Last year, during her
intermediate school session,
Mary Ann was awarded a
plaque for the best
correspondence work between
school sessions for her class.
The three year course is
sponsored by the Georgia
Bankers Association and is
held at the Center for Con
tinuing Education on the
University of Georgia cam
pus.
Mary Ann is one of 51
graduates of the 1974 session.
Planning and Zoning Board
and is currently serving his
second term on the County
Planning and Zoning Board.
He is a former President of the
Perry Board of Realtors, is
presently Secretary of the
Association of Georgia Real
Estate Exchangers
(AGREE). He also serves on

Mrs. Hugh Ragan visited
Mr and Mrs. J.T Smith in
Enrollment is limited to
qualified bankers and takes
three years to complete, in
cluding correspondence work
between the annual school
sessions. Since its inception in
1962, the Georgia Banking
School has grown to be
recognized as one of the top
banking schools in the nation
The purpose of the Georgia
Banking School is to provide
bankers with the latest in
hanking techniques and ex
pertise by employing
nationally known financial
experts and University of
Georgia professors in a week
long series of intensive
classroom lectures.
The highly successful
Georgia Banking School has a
freshman enrollment limited
to 70 persons per class; a total
of 175 students attended the
1974 session of the Georgia
Hanking School.

Mary Cawthon, outgoing
President, presented the new
members with their Beta Club
pins and certificates. After
Bullington, Kate Yeager, Mindee Gordon, Lisa
Roberts, and Mattie Fleming. Back row, left to

speaker, Coach Ray Mims.
Coach Mims gave an in
spiring talk to the new
members telling them that
they are “Blue-chip students --
the best!” To conclude the
program, Mary Cawthon told
about some of the projects the
club participated in such as
decorating the Christmas tree
and selling pencils and paper
each morning before school to
the students.
