Johnny Bannister, son of Mrs.
Mary A. Bannister of 1410
Perry Ave., Perry, Ga.
Captain Bannister, a per
sonnel officer, was assigned to
Korat from Osan AB,
Republic of Korea. He will be
working with the 388th Tac
tical Fighter Wing.
A 1965 graduate of Houston
High School, the captain
received his B.S. degree in
electronics in 1970 from
Tuskegee (Ala.) Institute.
Airman Charlie
Washington, Jr., son of Mr.
and Mrs. Charlie Washington,
Rt, 1, Kathleen, Ga., has
completed Air Force basic
training at Lackland AFB,
Tex.
During his six weeks
training, he studied the Air
Force mission, organization
and customs and received
special instruction in human
relations.
* The airman is remaining at
%e Air Training Command
base for specialized training
in the security police field.
Airman Washington was
graduated in 1972 from Perry
High School.

PJHS Students Entertain Parents, Friends .
Program Entitled
“Mirrors Os Time”
Ninth grade students at
Perry Junior High School
presented a program for their
parents and friends Monday
evening at the school titled
“Mirrors of Time” under the
direction of Mrs. Lynn S.
Campbell.
In their study of Con
temporary Literature, each
student was required to
complete two projects. In
dividual projects were as
signed in conjunction with
the reading of “The Crucible,
a modern drama about the
Salem Witch trials by Arthur
Miller. On completion of
“Fahrenheit 451”, a science
fiction novel about the future
by Ray Bradbery, the classes
were asked to engage in
futuristic thinking and design
a society for the planet earth
in the 23rd century.
With Barbara Dick serving
as Mistress of Ceremonies, the
students spanned 600 years
through the modern drama
about the Salem witch hunt of
1692 and a novel about the
emotionless world of
tomorrow in Walden 111 - 2292.

B.S. degree from Phillips
University in 1968 in Speech
Therapy and the M.S. degree
from Texas Technological
College in 1969 in Audiology.

“Ballad of Old Salem". Mike
Franklin served as the an
nouncer. Other cast members

Lewis, Mark Forchette, Mike
Willard, Evans Stembridge,

Danny Myers, and Kent
Fleming.
Jay Turner was in charge of
lighting and Jeff Henson and
Paul Warner were stage
managers.

9th grade Perry Junior High students display their individual projects made
during their study of Contemporary Literature. Mrs. Lynn Campbell taught
the course during the Spring quarter.
He was the audiologist on the
staff of the Central Georgia
Speech and Hearing Center in
Macon from 1969 until 1971. In
August of 1971, he accepted
the position of audiologist at
the Houston Speech School
where he established the
department of audiology.

Mrs. Lynn S. Campbell is presented a gift by
Ray Mims and Mike Franklin following the
program, “Mirror of Time’’ presented by 9th
grade students under Mrs. Campbell’s direction.
Speech and Hearing Center
was purchased in September
of 1971 and Mr. Valentine
supervised the renovations.
He also selected the clinical
testing equipment and the
Soundproof Testing Suite
which he helped install.
During the past three years,
children and adults from
many Georgia counties as well
as some from out of state have
been tested at the Houston
Speech School. Under
provisions of a DDSA federal
grant this past year, hundreds
of handicapped children have
been tested in area special
schools and classes.
Mr. Valentine was one of the
organizers of the Georgia
Educators of the Hearing
Impaired and served last year
as President Elect of that
group. At the spring meeting
in Atlanta held recently, he
was elected President of
G.E.H.I.
He is a member of the
Georgia Speech and Hearing
Association, the American
Speech and Hearing
Association, and the
Alexander Graham Bell
Association for the Deaf.
He is married to the former
Miss Cheryl Elliott of Lub
bock, Texas, and they live
with their three children,
Brad, Alan, and Kasie at 104
