B ’ Astros Blast
Pirates 19 to 3
The Astros and Pirates from
Perry locked up in a tight
played game in recent B
action. The Astros broke it
open in the sth when the
Pirates removed their ace
pitcher, Darryl Albritton from
the game. Until that time
Albritton had been tough on
the Astros even though he had
an illness before the game and
almost didn’t play. Raynard
Mickels, Astro leadoff batter,
started the game with a solid
smash that escaped the fielder
and he hustled around to
score. With one out Ricky
Duncan unloaded a bases
empty blast over the CF fence
to give the Astros a 2-0 lead.
After one away in the 3d Whitt
Smith beat out an infield
single and with two out Kenny
Hammock laced an RBI
double.
The Pirates picked up a run
in the 3d after several walks
loaded the bases and a hit
batter forced in the first
Pirate score. Two Astro runs
literally flew home in the 4th
as Rodney Bridges on via an
error and Anthony Honeycutt
with a walk stole bases,
pressured the defense and
scored on hustle. The Priates
made lie the game noise in the
4th as they got run two and
even though on the short side
of 5-2 score they had the bases
loaded. Until that point Astro
