Bethlehem To Host
Sunrise Service - The
Community Sunrise
Service will be held at
Bethlehem Baptist
Church in Bonaire at 6:30
on Easter morning.
The program being co
ordinated by Reverend
W.E. Cllatt, pastor of
Bethlehem will include
laypersons from other
local churches with the
message delivered by a
guest minister.
The invitation is ex
tended to all residents of
the Bonaire - Kathleen
area to attend.
Spiritual Preparation -
During the fifth week of
Lent, emphasis is placed
on "The Mind Os Love".
Suggestion is made that
we use this week to pray
for ourselves as we look
inward.
Early arrival at church
on Palm Sunday,
allowing time tor
meditation in the sanc
tuary, will create a
deeper awareness of the
Easter season and its
significance.
The Book of John has
been recommended as
Bible reading for the
week.
Baptist Youths To Walk
For Missions - Young
people of Bethlehem and
Bonaire First Baptist
Churches will put on their
walking shoes and begin
a 15 mile hike from
Warner Robins First
Baptist Church on April
Ist.
Supported by local
sponsors, 36 boys and
girls from the two
Bonaire churches have
already signed up to take
part in the Walk-A-Thon
promoted by the Southern
Baptist Churches of The
Rehoboth Association.
Beginning at The
Warner Robins First
Baptist Church, the army
of young people ranging
in age from first graders
to High School Seniors,
and including 40 chur
ches, will hike to Cen
terville.
In Centerville, The
G.A.'s, R.A.'s, Acteens
and others will take
Houston Lake Road to
Highway 96, stopping
over at Bethlehem.
The remainder of the
route covers Cartwright,
Fagin Mill Rd., Moody
Rd., North Davis and
back to the starting point
of W.R. First Baptist
Church on Watson
Boulevard.
This is reported to be
the third year for the
Walk-A-Thon of which
The Womens Missionary
Union's and Baptist
Brotherhood groups are
the Parent
Organizations.
Last year 253 of the 300
walkers held out from
start to finish.
Funds resulting from
the Walk-A-Thon are
directed to the Annie
Armstrong Easter Of
fering, carried out an
nually by Southern
Baptist Churches
throughout the United
States.
Clara Howard Circle
Meeting Held - Meeting at
the home of Carolyn
Stewart for the March
meeting were five
members of The Clara
Howard Circle of The
Bonaire United Methodist
Women.
Following the business
meeting, Thalia Barnett
presented the program
relating how giving of
The United Methodist
Women is associated with
the meaning of Easter.
The meeting climaxed
with light refreshments
served by the hostess.
Dora Speer was winner of
the door prize, a jar of
peach pickles from
"Carolyn's Kitchen",
The next meeting will
be held April 4th at n
a.m. in the Church
Fell ow ship Hall.

WAVC will present the
program.
Ladies will bring salads
for a luncheon.
Beauticians Run Close
Weight Loss Race - Jill
Cole, owner of Styles By
Jill, and Kelly Stewart,
one of her employees, ran
a close race but Jill was
declared winner of TOPS
Georgia Chapter 218's
latest weight loss contest.
As best loser also for
the month of February,
Jill was exempted from
paying dues for the
current month.
Gaining recognition as
recent Best Losers of the
local chapter were Jean
Pike and Peggy DiNardi,
who tied for the title.
In the KOPS category,
having attained her
weight loss goal and
striving to "keeps pounds
off", Mary Webb was
Best Loser of the week.
Tina Neal has been
welcomed as a new
member of Chapter 218.
Fifteen members were
present for the March 7th
meeting. Ten club
members are busily
preparing for the TOPS
State Recognition Day
which they plan to attend
March 31st and April Ist
in Atlanta.
Prospective members
are always welcomed at
weekly meetings of the
organization each
Tuesday at The Bonaire
United Methodist
Fellowship Hall. Further

attained their weight loss goal. Martha War
chak, the first to reach the KOPS status, has
inspired others by maintaining her goal for one

Wastewater Course
Michael A. Gibson and
William L. Anderson,
both of Perry, Ga.
recently completed a
course offered by the
Georgia Water and
Wastewater Institute at
West Georgia College.
Michael and William are
employees of the city of
Perry.
Michael and William
took part in the one-week
session on Basic
Wastewater.

vironmental Protection
Division of the Depart
ment of Natural

‘Spring Fling’
In Byron This

All is In readiness for
the first annual "Byron
Spring Fling" set for
Saturday and Sunday,
March 18fh and 19fh.
The program will in
clude a super flea market
with over 100 dealers
participating. The
fairgrounds office has
been busy tor the past
three weeks with
Inquiries received from
many states.
Dealers from as tar
away as Pittsburg,
Detroit, Miami, New
York City and all neigh
boring states are ex
pected to attend.
Fiea market spaces are
still available and can be
obtained as late as 7 a.m.
on Saturday, March 18th,
opening day. Several
acres of ground will be
used to accomodate all
participants.
Free entertainment
will be provided both
days at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.
Nashville recording
artists, "Bonnie and
Clyde" will present their
goodtime show. Featured
will be "Weeping Willie"
the clown king of the
banjo and ventriloquist
Billy Earl with Harlow,
"the bashful basset".
