A Big Success
The Newcomers Club of
Perry held its second
annual Fashion Show and
Card Party on March 13
at the Houston Lake
Country Club. The
fashions shown gave the
capacity crowd a preview
of the lovely new styles
and colors that are ''in”
tor this spring. The
decorations also
previewed spring with
floral arrangements of
daisies used on the tables
and around the room.
Providing the fashions
for the affair were D.J.'s
Jean Shop, Horace and
Mildred's, Leigh Casuals,
Fabrics, Houston
Lake Pro Shop, and
Perry Country Club Pro
Shop. Macrame hand
bags by Diane Edwards
were also shown with
some of the fashions.

Country Club on Monday, March 13. A sample of

Perry Sewerage Plant
Expansion Approved
Final plans for the sl.l
million expansion of
Perry's sewerage
treatment plant were
approved Monday by
Mayor James McKinley
and members of city
council.
The city governing
body put their stamp of
approval on the project
after city counsulting
engineer Elmo
Richardson explained
how much the plant
would work and how
much it would cost.
Richardson said a
contract on the expansion
project would be let
within 60 days, and that It
would take 390 days to
build after the contract is
awarded.
Richardson said the
expansion project would
expand the existing
plant's capacity to treat
sewerage from one
million gallons daily to
three million gallons
daily.
He said the present
plant was built in 1965 to
last until 1985, and was
designed to treat one

Women’s AGLOW of Perry will have a “Praise
Gathering” Saturday, March 18, at 10:00 a.m. at
Holiday Inn of Perry. Guest speaker will be
Barbara Powell, wife of the Reverend Dan
Powell of Deeper Life Ministries of Warner
Robins. Everyone is invited.
The Perry Woman’s Club will meet at the
Crossroads Methodist Church March 20th at 7:30
p.m. A local attorney will speak on Wills and
Estates. Anyone interested is cordially invited to
attend. The program will preceed the business
session.
The Perry Freewill Baptist Church is spon
soring a yard sale with the pn f it used as a
donation to the Building Fund. he sale is
scheduled for Sat., March 18 at the church on
Oakridge Dr. all day beginning at 8 a.m. Anyone
wishing to make contributions to the yard sale
may bring it by on the day of the sale.
The Perry Board of Realtors will meet on
Thursday morning, March 23 at the New Perry
Hotel. Lee Wettstein, broker of Town & Country
Realty Co. will give a slide presentation entitled
“Code of Ethics in Relation To Client, Public &
Fellow Realtors”.

federal grant and a city
bond Issue for $500,000.

House" at the school on
Monday March 20, at 7:30
p.m. celebrating the
Spring Quarter.
There will be a short
program in the cafeteria
beginning at 7:30. After
the program, parents are

March 9th to enter club
Area Competition. There
were seven students

started at 9:30 and
awards were given at
1:30.
