workshop in Ikebana,
Japanese Flower
Arranging, was the
program for the
Rosewood Garden Club
this past week. Caroline
Hodges, instructor in the
Sogetsu School lead the
workshop.
Ms. Hodges, former
president of the WR
Garden Council and
member of Bud and
Bloom Garden Club, is a
well known flower
arranger and hor
ticulturist in Middle
Georgia. She received
her instructor's cer
tificate while living in the
Far East.

Small bedside bouquets
and terrariums were
made by the patients with
the help of the Garden
Clubbers. This coming
month, 4 April, the group
will again visit Elberta
and have programmed
the making of hanging
baskets. The time will be
10 a.m.

the forthcoming Annual
Spring Flower Show April
21, 22 in Houston Mail,
Nell Ivey, AAimi Spivey,
Myrlene Mason and Betty
Fox volunteered.

The next meeting of
Rosewood will be 19
April, a week earlier than
usual. Members will
devote themselves to
making the staging
arrangements tor the
coming show. All are
urged to attend.
Rec. Softball
Signup Begins
The Houston County
Recreation Department's
men and women softball
league registrations are
underway. Registration
will continue until April 7,
1978.
During this time, a
team representative may
register his or her team
at Ted Wright Park ofi
Moody Road in Bonaire
or in the commissioner's
office at the courthouse in
Perry from 9 till 5
Monday through Friday.
At the , time of
registration, a $50.00
commitment fee will be
asked. The money will be
deducted from league
fees. If no league exists,
money will be refunded.
After April 7, 1978 the
teams that have
registered will be called
as to the date tor an
organizational meeting.
The season will begin the
first week in May.

Mrs. James E. Cutler,
Jr., the former Miss
Laura Whipple, was the
inspiration for a series of
bridal parties prior to her
wedding on March 18,
1978 at the Perry United
Methodist Church.
A miscellaneous
