Vows Spoken Here
An impressive social
event of March 18th was
the wedding of Miss
Laura Whipple to Mr.
James Cutler at the
Perry United Methodist
Church, Reverend Tom
Johnson performed the
beautiful double ring
ceremony.
The bride is the
daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Allen P. Whipple of
Perry, and the groom is
the son of Mr. and Mrs.
James E. Cutler Jr. of
Atlanta.
Mrs. Joseph H. McNutt
was organist, and she
accompanied Miss Beth
Whitworth, who sang
"Evergreen" before the
ceremony and Malotte's
"Lord's Prayer" at the
conclusion. Lohengrin's
Wedding March was used
for the processional and
Wedding March by
Mendelsohn tor the
recessional.
The sacred vows were
spoken before a striking
altar background of
palms flanked by arched
hurricane candelabra
with yellow candles. The
cascading flower
arrangements were of
white gladioli, yellow
carnations, yellow and

The groom chose his
father tor his best man.

Thomason, all of Atlanta;
Warren B. Clark of
Charlotte, North
Carolina; Allen Whipple,
brother of the bride, and
Charles Clark, brother
in-law of the bride, both
of Perry.
Serving as her sister's
matron-ot-honor was
Mrs. Charles Clark of
Perry. The bridesmaids
were Ms. Teresa
Bradley, sister of the
groom, Ms. Wendy
Weckerling, of Atlanta;
Miss Valerie Whipple and
Miss Michelle Whipple,
cousins of the bride, of
Cherry HIM, New Jersey;
Miss Janice Funk of
Warner Robins; Miss
Pattle Graham and Ms.
Jill Pugh, of Perry. They
wore identical gowns of
powder blue polyester,
with chiffon overskirts.
The bridesmaids carried
nosegays of yellow roses,
blue daisies, and gyp
sophlla. They wore
matching flower hair
pieces. Chandlor Allen
Whipple was ringbearer.
His blue suit was the
same blue as the at
tendant's gowns.
The bride, given in
marriage by her father,
was lovely in a white
quiana gown with a
scooped neckline. The
bodice and long sleeves
featured venise lace and
seed pearls with a flared
full-length train
flowering from the
bodice. Her long Illusion
veil was attached to a
coronet of lace and seed
pearls. Her bridal
bouquet was a cascade of
white roses, gypsophllla
and sprengeri, centered
with a white cattleya
orchid.
The mother of the bride
wore a floor length gown
of apricot knit, with a
bodice of apricot lace.
Her flower was a white
cattleya orchid.
Mrs. Cutler, mother of
the groom, wore a gown
of champagne chiffon and
matching accessories.
She wore a white cattleya
orchid.
Mrs. J.W. Trunnell of
Cochran, grandmother of
the bride was gowned In
aqua crepe. Mrs. Floyd
Huey, grandmother of the
groom, chose a gown of
apricot french crepe.
They both wore cym
bidium orchids.
Immediately tollowing
the ceremony, the bridal
couple was honored by
her parents with a
reception in the social
hall of the church.
Receiving the guests
were Mrs. Tom Johnson
and Mrs. Wendell K.
Whipple Sr., Mrs. Billy
Fryer kept the bride's
book.
The refreshment table
was overlaid with lace
over yellow taffeta.
Silver candelabra held
yellow candles and
arrangements of spring
flowers. Mrs. Robert J.
McNeil, Jr. cut the bride's
cake. The four-tiered
columned cake was
adorned with hand-spun
yellow and blue roses and
orhclds. The groom's
cake featured a cascade
of fresh fruit and was
served by Mrs. Ben
Stephens.

After a wedding trip to
Florida, the couple is
living in Roswell where
he has a position with
Georgia Power Company
and she is associated with
Northside Realty
Company.

After the rehearsal for
the Whipple-Cutler
Wedding on Friday
evening, the groom
elect's parents en
tertained with a
rehearsal dinner and
cocktail party at the
Holiday Inn in Perry. The
U-shaped table was
adorned with silver
candelabra and
arrangements of mixed
spring flowers. Mr.
Cutler presented pewter
tankards to his best man
and the groomsmen.
Guests of the wedding
party were the families,
and out of town guests.
On the day of the
wedding, Mr. and Mrs.
Wendell K. Whipple
entertained at their
beautiful home with a
brunch for the out of town
guests. Thirty guests
were invited.
Newcomers Club
Plans May Party
Perry Newcomers Club
held its April meeting on
Thursday, April 6th in the
Fellowship Hall of St.
Christopher's Episcopal
Church.
Club vice-president
Sharon Brazelle
welcomed the group of 24
members and 9 guests.
The program for the
evening was presented by
Mr. David Pierce of
Nunn, Geiger & Pierce
law firm. Mr. Pierce's
presentation highlighted
Georgia law, estate
planning and wills.
Activities chairperson,
Mrs. Susan Pierce, an
nounced tennis lessons
have already begun.
Anyone Interested in
joining should contact the
instructor Louise Myrell
at 987-5782 or Mrs. Pierce
at 987-0950. Nancy
Albritton will be starting
a needlepoint class soon.

gourmet meal is coming
up soon. Anyone who

Social chairperson,
Theresa Renegar, an
nounced there will be a
May party-installation at
8:00 p.m. on Saturday,
May 20th at the Houston
Lake Country Club. In
stallation of the new
officers will be held at
8:30 p.m. followed by
music and dancing from
9:00 p.m. until 1:00 a.m.
Dress will be formal for
the occasion - coat and tie
for the men and long
dresses for the ladles.

evening were served by
Mrs. Theresa Renegar,
Mrs. Ann Farquhar, and
Mrs. Linda Christie.

the clothing fits their
particular lifestyle.
