Almost Twenty Tons
Weight Loss By Ga Tops -
One of the highlights of
Tops Chapter 218 ot
Bonaire for this month
was the State Recognition
Day in Atlanta which
climaxed on April 1.
The report ot almost
twenty tons in weight loss
might sound like an
April's Fool joke, but it is
a fact. This was the total
of combined weight
losses reported from all
Georgia Chapters. The
report served as an "eye
opener” that each pound
lost really does count!
Representing Bonaire
at the meeting were Rose
Wildes, Anna Blanton,
Mary Webb, Cozy and
Phil Morris, Phyllis
Peavy, Bill Wilburn,
Martha Warchak and
Eva Barry.
After hearing some of
the experiences of these
nine members, other who
were unable to make the
trip had regrets and
began immediate plans
for the next SRD which
will be held in Macon.
At a recent meeting of
Chapter 218, Joyce
Hamilton, a member of
the local organization
explained and illustrated
how to make "calico"
flowers. Each member
present made one of the
pretty flowers.
Claudine Poole, a new
Chapter member was
best loser for March
receiving dues for April.
Best KOPS loser during
the month was Donna
Hurd.
In a very impressive
ceremony on the night of
April 4, Chapter officers
for 1978 were installed by
Cozy Morris, outgoing
president. *
Newly-elected officers
are: Anna Blanton,
leader; Mary Webb, co
leader; Rose Wildes,
secretary; Fran Barry,
treasurer; Eva Barry,
weight recorder; Ophie
Perdue, assistant weight
recorder and Jean Pike,
reporter.
Following ad
journment, a number of
the chapter members
went to Shoney's in
Warner Robins for a time
ot fellowship and careful
dining.
A new motto has been
adopted by Chapter 218
which very appropriately
is: "See You Lighter!"

Pondering The Situation
Forest Baynard, operator of Baynard’s Tree Service, wonders what
he’s going. to do with the beehive one of his workers left dangling from a
big oak in Ed Beckham’s front yard at 1102 Beckham Circle last Friday.
Baynard, who lives at 2301 Macey Ave., said he knew how to haul the bees
to another place where they would be safe.
the gospel singing at
Bonaire United
Methodist Church in the
dark for their time of
fellowship.
But the darkness was
broken by the "Lam
plighter'' who ran an
extension from the
church building to the
Fellowship Hall, adding
brightness to the candle
lit area.
The Believers from
Thomaston provided
another program of in
spiration. Also par
ticipating in the spirited
singing were The
Bethlehem Trio, The
Happy Hearts and The
Young Inspirations.
Caution
Before depositing
money in racks for
papers, be sure to check
date. Several people have
reported "losing money"
by depositing money and
getting the wrong issue.
Papers are usually in the
racks at MB.D and
Market Basket Grocery
Stores in Bonaire by late
Thursday afternoon but
sometimes due to cir
cumstances beyond
control, the racks are not
filled until later.
An effort has been
made to replace papers
for those who have
reported the happening
but it will be helpful to
check the date first.
