The Distribution of Seeds.
Seeds are really the children of
the plants, and few human chil
dren receive more careful atten
tion. While they are young and
delicate they are protected by
thousands of ingenious devices*
and when finally the time comes
for them to leave their parents

Digests what you eat-
This preparation contains all of the

food
It allows you to eat all
rant. The most sensitive
stomachs can take it. By its use many
thousands of dyspeptics v have been
cured after everything else failed. It
prevents formation of gas on the stom
ach, relieving all distress after eating;
Dieting unnecessary. Pleasant to take.
It can’t help
but do you good
Prepared only by E. G. DeWitt& Co., Chicago*
The 21. bottle contains 2J4 times the 50c. sizft,
start. And
this is absolutely necessary, for
in spite of all the care bestowed
upon them only one seed in many
thousand gets a permanent fool-
hold in the soil. Of the untold
billions which fall to the ground
every year there are comparative
ly few which do not perish from
one cause or another. Tons of
them are destroyed annually by
birds; many fall upon rocks or
other sterile ground, and even of
those which succeed In getting
their roots into the soil the ma
jority are crowded out or starved
out by stronger and more vigorous
competitors. The more widely
the seeds are distributed, the
greatei* chance there is that some
of them will escape destruction
and find conditions well suited to

why plants employ so many agents

The price of choice boxes m the
Metropolitan Opera House, New
York, for the current season has
been fixed at $6,000, an increase
of $1,000 over last season. There
are numbers of wealthy persons in
New York who would gladly pay
twice that sum for a box at the
Metropolitan, for the sake of sit

are controlled by a committee
whose business it is to see that do
objectionable persons get into

Col. Watterson calls attention
to the fact that the President’s
plan for curing the trust evil by
federal control is not original
isrith him. John D. Rockefeller,
Mr. Arch bold and H. H. Rogers
•of the Standard Oil Company
months ago told the Industrial
Commission that federal control
was the proper remedy to be ap
plied. John W. Gates is another
advocate of national charters to
corporations. James B. bill, the
trust lawyer, has expressed him
self along the same line. It ap

dent is advocating precisely the
thing that the trust magnates
have recommended. — Savannah
