AUDITING ACCOUNTS.
Commissioners Also Visit Brown’s
Bridge.—Are Doing a Good
Work.
The Board of County Commissioners
was in session Monday and part of
Tuesday. The principal work done
was that of auditing the accounts of
last court. Mr. J. R. Whaley, the
new commissioner from Tad more dis
trict, was sworn in. He is a good man
and no doubt will make a good com
missioner.
Wednesdey morning the commission
ers yisited the pauper farm, where they
are having a new house erected for the
superintendent on the land recently
purchased. The su) erindcnt’s old house
will be used for children from different
parts of the county who are sent the
commissioners to be cared for.
In the afternoon of Wednesday, the
commissioners visited Brown’s bridge
where they met the ordinary of For
syth county. They inspected the
bridge and will probably decide to buy
^it at their next meeting*, the ordinary
of Forsyth county agreeing on the
price—$1,500. The commissioners ap
pointed an expert to inspect ihe bridge
and submit his report to them in order
that they might get at a move correct
value of the property.
The punehase of Brown’s bridge and
the erection of one at Keith’s ferry is a
very progressive move on the part of
the commissioners and will meet with
the approval of the people of the
county. The commissioners are doing
a good work in the way of having the
public highways improved and in
bettering the bridges over the different
streams. The people of the county
should heartily co-operate with them
in this work.
EXERCISES POSTPONED.
Washington-Lee Celebration De
ferred to April 26th.
The celebration of the Washington-
Lee ceremonies at the auditorium has
been postponed from Monday, Febru
ary 21, to April 26, Decoration day.

the Daughters of the Confederacy, Con
federate Veterans, and Sons of Vete
rans.
The public will tak£ notice of the
change of date and get in position to
attend the exercises April 26th. The
reason for changing the date was be
cause court would be in ‘session Mon
day, and there will be entertainments
at the auditorium tonight and Monday
night, therefore the attendance at the
exercises would necessarily be small,
and this was not desired.

Exposure to Disease.
This does not necessarily mean the
contraction of disease provided the
system is in a vigorous condition, with
the blood pure and all the organs in
healthy action. When in such a con
dition contagion is readily resisted and
the disease germs can find no room for
lodgment. Hood’s Sarsaparilla is the
best medicine to build up the system
because it makes pure, rich blood, and
pure blood is the basis of good health
In cold weather it is especially neces
sary to keep up the health tone because
the body is subject to greater exposure
and more liable to disease. Hood’s
Sarsaparilla is the safeguard of health.
