Every expectant mother hat

there is no telling
what may happen.
Child-birth is full
of uncertainties if
Nature is not given proper assistance.
Mother’s Friend
is the best help you can use at this time.
It is a liniment, and when regularly ap
plied several months before baby comes,
it makes the advent easy and nearly pain
less. It relieves and prevents “ morning
Biekness.” relaxes the overstrained mus
cles, relieves the distended feeling, short
ens labor, makes recovery rapid and cer
tain without any dangerous after-effects.
Mother's Friend is good for only one
purpose, viz.: to relieve motherhood of
danger and pain.

The Yukon River.
The mouth of the Yukon is about
a hun(Iied unies bioad:— that is,
from one side to the other side;
but there is nothing to suggest a
river about it—nothing but small
streams,sloughs, islands, innumer
able and disconcerting. Is is like
being brought face to face with a
hundred gates, only one of which
open the way which you are seek
ing, while the others lead to de
struction. This is the difficulty
in navigation at the starting poipt,
and the sort of thing encountered
all the way to Circle City. It is
touch and go, or touch and not go ;
and you may get through, or may
stick on a, bar and not budge an
inch for many weary days or weeks.
Eighteen hundred and fifty miles
of river are before yon on vour
way to Dawson ; and it takes about
fifteen days, if you meet with no
accidents, days of vast, wonderful
and ever-changing scenery ; nights
of silent granduer, when you seem
to be all alone, surrounded by an
untrodden wilderness, silent, awe
some, mysterious.—Century.
Blue Ridge Post-Record Speaks.
It makes us tired to see how the
Tate ex-postmasters and ex-office-
holders are clamoring for his re
nomination and claiming that he
is the only man in all the country
who is able to represent the ninth
district in congress. If this sup
port came from other sources than
than it does it would no doubt
have a greater bearing in Mr. Tate’s
favor. The Pickens County Her
ald, Mr. Tate’s home paper, is do
ing the greatest vamping and who
could expect anything else when
it is known that the editor of, that
paper i9 kept supplied with a good
office by Mr. Tate. He was post
master at Jasper until the change
of administrations and after he
got out of that he went right into
a good clerkship in Washing
ton at a good salary. We like to
see justice done all parties in
everything.—Blue Ridge Post-Re
cord.
Brother Hackney, you ought not
to have said anything about Mr.
Tate or any of his organs. Don’t
you know that the congressional
seat of the ninth is deeded to Mr.
Tate, and woe unto the man that
tries to take it from him. It mat
ters not haw long he has been a
democrat or how capable he is to
fill the place he must not hint
that he ought to have it. And
woe unto the little editor who says
anything about another man who
might make a good representative,
they will cry independeiitism at
once. Jim, we are afraid that i
you are ruined.—Young Harris
