v The farmers are still looking
a little blue on account of poor
stands of cotton and the war.
This seems to be the uppermost
thing in the minds of of the peo
ple just now.
Well, it seems we have a lot of
fellows just now who know mote
about how this government
should Toe run (in their estima
tion) than both houses of con
gress, the president and his cabi
net and the heads of the war and
navy departments all combined;
and yet some of those fellows
don’t know how to run a one-
horse farm successfully,
Thiscommunity was very much
shocked on last Wednesday even

was sentoutthat William Brown,
as.nof Mr. Jack Brown, was
killed by lightning. He had lived
here all his life and was well
thought of by those who knew
him. He had been a faithful
member of Mt. Zion Baptist
church for nearly 14 years. His
funeral was preached at the
church by his forme*-pastor, Rev.
J. J\l. D. Stallings, of Carrollton,
assisted by the.present pastor,
Rev D, W. Carter. In the pres
ence of a large c incourse of peo
ple his body was laid to rest in
the Mt. Zion cemetary by the
Masonic Fraternity, of which he
was a member. The family have
our deepest sympathy.

Our Sunday school was a little
slim last Sunday on account of
the all-day singing at Friend
ship. Well, realy, what do you
think of Sunday school teachers
and singing classes who are con
stantly deserting their Sunday
school classes for the sake of an
all-day singing.

Off Fat If You Get
More Fresh Air
Be Moderate In Your Diet and Reduce
Your Weight With Tassco
Lack of fresh air weakens the oxy
gen-carrying power of the bicod, the
liver becomes sluggish, fat accumu*
lates and the action of miny of the
vital organs are hindered thereby. The
heart 1 action becomes weak, work is
an etfort and the beauty of the figure
is destroyed.
Fat put on by indoor life is un
healthy and if nature is not assisted in
throwing it off by increasing the oxy
gen-carrying power of the blood, a
serious case of abesity may result.
When you feel that you are getting
too ptout, take the matter in hand at
on<fe. Don’t wait until your figure has
become a joke and your health ruined
through carrying around a burden of
unsightly and unhealthy fat.
Spend as much time as you possibly
can in the open air, breathe deeply,
and get from J. L. Selman & Son a
box of tasseo, take a glass of hot
water every morning before breakfast
then take tassco after each meal and
at bedtime.
Weigh yourself every few days and*
keep up the treatment until you are
down to normal. Tassco is absolutely
harmless, is pleasant to take, helps
the digestion and is designed to in
crease the oxygen-carrying power of
the blood.
'Even a few days* treatment should
show a noticeable reduction in weight,
there is nothing better for obesity.
