Some man has said “Try to be

with your knocks, and when you
die the world wi 1 feel sorry.”
About the only reason I see, is
because the world rogrets a good
thing, hence such regrets would
be selfish.
Death like birth is merely an
incident in human existence. If

why not scatter roses among the
living—the dead don’! need Oiem.
Sympathy or sorrow' over the
misfortune of your friends is
alright while ha 13 alive, provi
ded you do your best t.o aid him
in his distress. Otherwise, your
sympathy amounts to nothing
and is merely a shallow pretense
which you use as a sort of salve
for your neglected duty.
Now, if you learn that the
Widow Jones and her little chil
dren are on the verge of star
vation it’s all nonsens to get
down on your knees and ask the
Lord to help them, unless you are
absolutely unable to help them
yourself. If you have some flour
or a thin slab of bacon to spare,
carry it over to the helpless fam
ily and say nothing to the Lord
or anyone else about it. The
Lord will probably know it any
way, and it is not good taste to
get paid for your charitable acts
in public praise by advertis ng
them in the papers and expect
the Lord to reward you four or
five times for the flour and bacon.
As a matter of iact, the con
sciousness of having done your
duty is reward enough for any
self-respecting man and he
should he satisfied with that, for
otherwise nis gift would belike
til it of the Indian—he would
expect full value in return.
For some unknown reason the
world seems to have reversed the
best instincts of the human
heart,
never die, and unless you die
you can never live.
I am not prepared to say that
extreme grief over the death of
a good man is sin, but I am sure
God never intended us to view
their natural incident in that
that light.
There are many things worse
sent it to the Lord, because the
man needs the house and the
Lord don’t, for His home is in
the hearts of His people. Bro
ther let’s think it over.

Through all the years the kidneys

Worldly shame, censure and
disgrace drives thousands of un-| sore muscles,

The realization that you are
loved and cherished by the Lord
should be such a joy that you
would count your lifeas nothing.
The wisest man of all the
earth, after draining the cup of
happiness to the dregs, declared
that “The day of death was bet

Hence I fail to understand why
the world should array itself in
holiday attire to welcome the

sorrow, tribulation and disap
