entire time to the new enterprise,
With the assistnnce of the Senti

For So!icitor=General
Elsewhere in this issue of the
Sentinel appears the regular an
nouncement <>f Col. Ragsdale, of
Dallas, forSolicitor-Geneoal of the
Tallapoosa circuit. We are also
printing what his home paper, the
Dallas New Era, has to say about
his fitness for the office.
We have only had the pleasure
of a limited acquaintance with
him, but are favorably impressed
with his genial dispositon, his en
ergy and resoursefulness and feel
quite confident that should he be
elected, he will prove thoroughly
efficient.
Mr. W. H. Johnston, for many
years a citizen of Douglas County,

Hod, in His wisdom, has called
from lobor to refreshment our bro
ther Arthur J. Mitchell.
Brother Mitchell departed this life
at yiis |home in Paulding County,
near Bethel Church, on April 3rd,
of this year, being t the time of his
ieath 40 years of age.
He was bom in Douglas County

ago, and from this union 8 children
were bom, and seven of them are
now living 1 .
Brother Mitchell was a member
of the Baptist church, having joined
in 1901. It is a matter of record
that he remained a faithful member
until the time of his going away.
He was made a Master Mason in thi
Lodge in February 1906, and we can
testify to his loyalty and devotion
to the principles of this ancient in

‘Col. J. K. Hutcheson and Mr. C. 1*
Bel man, with Mr. 1<J. Y. Mahaffy went
t Carroll County Monday to visit the
chicken farm of Mr. Kenney with a
view to erecting some up to date
houses here.
Col. Hutcheson and Mr. Selnian are
going into the White Leghorn busi
ness on an extensive scale. Mr. Sel-
man and Mr. Joe Cannon recent!
rceivedi a large shipmentof day old
chickens.
We are glad to see these gentlemen
taking the lead in what we believe
can be made a most profitable enter
prise in this section.
The writer recently passed through
via auto, a section of country sur
rounding Morristown, Tenn., and
on nearly every farm could bo seen
thousands of White leghorns and it
is reported that the poultry crop in
that section equals and often exceeds
the farm crops.
If enough people will get into this*
business, buyers fom the large cities
will be coming here and poultry of
all, kinds will be bringing top notch
prices.
A anice bunch of chickens could be
raised on every farm with little extra
cost or trouble and there is always
a demand for them.
