Uncle Joe Norman came in town
Monday with several bales of short
cotton which he held over from last
year hoping to get a better price for
it. His hopes were realized, we
might say fully, for he probably did
not expect, when he decided to hold
the cotton, to ever realize as much
for it as he was paid Monday. The
advance was more than two and one
half cents, It isn’t always safe to
hold cotton, but this is one instance
in which it paid.—Moultrie Ob-

The “Plow Boy Preacher,” Rev.

I he Plant System reports a strong
movement of syrup from Cairo and
other stations along its line. The
business has opened up well, and
reports tha system has received
from its agents iudicateio that it
will be greater this year than ever bo-
fore. .Syrup is shipped from Cairo io

other stution along the Plant Sy stem.

Among the bills introduced iu the
house of representatives, of our
state legislature last Monday were
the following important ones; “A
bill to make i t unlawful for any
judge in Georgia to get drunk, and
the offense to be a misdemeanor. A
bill to prohibit any candidate for
office giving money or liquor to
voters.” These bills should pass
both houses and become laws. They
are timely and all important.—Mc¬
