White Man turned Yellow.
Great constinatfon was felt by the
friends of M A Hogarity of Lexing
ton, Kv., when they saw lie was turn¬
ing yellow. Ilis skin slowly changed
color, also his eyes, and lie suffered
terribly. His malady was Yellow
Jaundice. He was treated by the
best doctors, but without benifit.
Then be was advised to try Electric
Ritters, the wonderful Stomach and
Liver remedy, and be writes: “Alter
taking two bottles I was wholly cur¬

During last May an infant

The doctors had given up all

the house, telling them I felt
sure it would do good if used
according to directions. In two
days time the child had fully re¬

The Dog Ordinance.
August 1st all parties owning
dogs in Conyers will either have
to pay a license of .$1.00 per dog
or else yeild the dog up to the dep¬
uty marshal, who will after three
days of grace, dispatch
him to tie happy hunting
ground . T h i s ordinance
is designed to rid the city of the
numerous worthless clogs that
make night hideous and commit
numerous depredations on the
premisis of our helpless citizens.
No man should buy a tag| for a
sorry dog. If this is made the
rule when the ordinance goes into
effect on the first there will be but
few'dogs left in Conyers.
Nearly every man we have heard
speak of the new ordinance favoi'9
it heartily. Those who own good
dogs are perfectly willing to pay
the license because it makes the
dog family of the city more res¬
pectable and high-toned.
The new law certainly w r orks
no hardship and there is goad rea¬
son for such law.
A mother was recently reading
to her young son the story of a
little fellow whose father was tak
en ill and died, after which he set
diligently to work to assist in sup
porting himself and his mother.
When she had finished the story
she said: "Now', Tommie, if pa¬
pa were to die, wouldn’t you work
to keep mama?” “Why. n©,” said
the little chap, not relishing the
idea of work, “What for? Ain’t
we got a good house to live in-”
“Oh. yes, my dear,” said the
mother, but we can’t eat the house
you know'.” ,‘Well, ain’t we got
plenty of things it. the pantry? 1 »
Continued the young hopeful.
“Certainly dear,” replied the
mother, “but they would not last
long, and what then? M << Well ma,’
said the young incorrigible after
thinking a moment, “ain’t there
enough to last till you get anoth.
