BALTIMORE May 7—On trc fa<» of
the returns today. Colonel Theodore
Roosevelt -,ill get Maryland s • -xf-en

city organizations acadnst him, he de

Speaker Champ Clark, of the national
house of representatives, v. .1 have a
majority of the delegates to the Mar? -
land state convention, and th» riff ca
tion of sixteen to the Democrat!' na
tional convention will be instructed foi
the speaker for the Democrat b nomi
nation for president. Woodrow Wilson
was badly defeated.
Colonel Roosevelt will have 66 votes
in the state convention, just a bare on”
over the 6." which constitutes a major
ity of the 129 votes in th" statt rnn
ventlon. President Taft will have 62
votes and a further analysis of th° r -

A Clark Landslide,
Speaker Champ Clark was hacked In
his fight by the entire city Democratic
organization and he swent Baltimore
and gets its 28 votes in the state con
vention.
Clark was also supported hv the state
organization and was an easy winner
over Wilson and Harmon, and will have
80 votes in the state convention Wil

45, while Harmon received the four
votes of 'Worcester county, the horn" of
United States Senator John Walter
Smith, who is a staunch supporter of
the Ohio governor.
Tennessee Gives
Victory to Clark
NASHVILLE TENN., May 7.—Late
today the state managers each of Clark.
Harmon and Wilson were claiming the
advantage of yesterday's action bt
counties in the presidential contest On
the reports received. Clark has decid
edly the best of it in the instructed
vote and his figures in this respect far
'exceed that of all the other ■ andldates
combined John I. Cox. the Clark man
ager. says there will he a landslide for
Clark when this state acts The con
vention yesterday showed that the peo
ple of the state are overwhelmingly for
Clark. Harmon people claim that they
will have a majority of the delegates,
and say that so far they have 19 out
of the 96 counties.
It is thought that at least 70 per cent
of the vote will be uninstructed, and in
this lies Wilson's hope His people are
claiming every one of the independent
delegates which faction has one half
the.representation in 60 counties. With
this uninstructed vote to trade on and
the large uhinstructed vote of the reg
ulars. Wilson should get some dele
gates, though he Ins not won more
than half a dozen delegations so far.
At least halt, if not mow. of the
delegates of Tennessee to Baltimore
will be sure for Clark if he contend
for instructions and the other half will
be divided among the three others.

FAMILY GARDENS
Most homes in and around Atlanta have back yards.
.Most of these back yards are bare spots gone to waste.
These back yards, now wasted, amount, in the aggregate,
to hundreds of acres.
These waste acres put into family vegetable gardens
would produce enough vegetables to supply this entire city
with vegetables all summer and fall.
These now waste acres would make an enormous dent
in the much-talked-about “high cost of living.”
How about your back yard? Is it doing its duty in
supplying your table with crisp, fresh vegetables, better than
a on van buy ;
A small quantity of seeds of tire vegetables you like, a
a few plants of tomato, pepper and eggplant are al! that's
necessari for a good, money-saving family garden.
You have the ground. We have the seeds and plants of
i right varieties at right prices.
We are always glad to see you at our store, but if you
can't come, just phone us.
