LAKEWOOD VOTING
TO BE OR NOT TO BE
INCORPORATED CITY
To be or not to be?
That’s the question Lakeview is voting
on today. The citizens of the little town
are deciding whether their little town
shall retain the charter granted them by
the legislature or be dissolved.
The charter was first asked for protec
tion purposes and there were quite a few
with hopes that one day Lake view would
be a city of which Georgia could boast.
But things did not go as swimmingly
as they might have and residents of
the district about the East Lake club
began to cast a longing eye toward Lake
view territory for public school purposes.
Those loyal to Lakeview are confident
that the charter will be retained and the
town remain in existence.

Edna Goodrich, who, it is reported, will wed Ralph Herz.
NEW YORK. Nov. I.—Ralph Herz,
the comedian, started for Toronto, On
tario, yesterday Instead of reporting for
rehearsal of "Bachelors and Benedicts”
at the Criterion theater. A note was
received by James S. Montgomery, one
of the authors of the play, in which
Herz Intimated that he had left to get
married. It is rumored that he will
wed Edna Goodrich, the latest divorced
wife of Nat Goodwin, who is playing
a vaudeville engagement in Toronto.
"Dear Jim,” said the note to Mr.
Montgomery, “don’t let this worry you
too much. My absence from rehearsal
is caused by the necessity of going to
Toronto. Perhaps when I return to
open with 'Bachelors and Benedicts’ I
may have some real news for you. I
might be married.”
Herz was the husband of Lulu Glaz
er until she divorced him in Chicago
last January.
No confirmation of the runtor con
cerning the proposed marriage could
be gained. Friends of Herz and Miss
Goodrich who were reached said that
while the two had been good friends,
they were not aware of any plans for
a marriage. Miss Goodrich, In To
ronto, denied she was engaged to Herz
