MAUDE ADAMS IN “PETER PAN” »
BEGINS ENGAGEMENT TONIGHT
Th company surrounding Maude
Adams was selected with a good deal of
* are and the result is that the presenta
tion of “Peter Pan" is one of all-round
excellent ♦•. Miss Adams practically de
voted tht‘ entire summer to the prepara
tions for the revival of the fairy ulay and
she passed upon the merits of many peo
ple before she finally felt satisfied that
she had a company that would do lustice
to Barrie’s work. One of the noticeable
things about the presentation is the ear
nestness with which its characters are in
terpreted While “Peter Pan" is all de
lightful make-believe to those who wit
ness it. to the players it seems to be all
absolute!} real. 'There is a great deal of
what is known as "business’’ in the play
and it is all carried out with the utmost
perftction of detail. ’The production is a
heavy one. the final act showing three
changes of scene, concluding with that
exquisite picture of Peter in his house in
the tree tops. Among those in the nu
merous company who will be seen in Miss
Adams’ support when the actress comes
to th*' Atlanta tonight are Robert Peyton
Cart'-i, Fred Tyler. Byron Silvers, Wal
la e Jackson. Dorothy Imnn, Margaret
G.»:d<a aiul Marion Abbott.
Miss Adams plaes a Friday extra mati

PLAYLET SEEN AT GRAND
Tic prediction made by the Grand man
ag< i mnt that the class of \audeville that

mw t ‘me f<»r this class of entertainment
has been made good with a rush. ;
I 'There has not been a show that has

ing the Grand at all performances.
“Detective Keen, - pla •
being presented b\ a company of Daniel
Fr<»hman stars is the best sketch that has
been seen here in vaudeville. It is of in
tense interest from the opening to the
close of the offering.
Taidie Leonard furnishes more genuine
cumedj than has been released from the
Grand stage this season and the wonder
of th work of the Japanese acrobats who
close the show is without a doubt the
best that has been presented.
For ’Thanksgiving week the' Grand is
going to make the pace faster than ever.
Some quality headliners are on the bill
and the features are the sort that keep
Broadway theaters busy. The star act
will be Tom Nawn ami company in a
clever Irish comedy specialty Nawn is
■me of the greatest of the character com
edians of vaudeville. Kate Elinore, the
funniest woman in vaudeville. and her
partner, Sam Williams, will be another of
the star acts and a big feature will be
Juliet, who was' the star attraction at
Morris’ American music hall In New York

MISS POYNTER WILL PRESENT
“LENA RIVERS" AT THE LYRIC
In response to a popula: demand, Miss
Beulah Poynter will present at the Lyric
this afternoon and for the remainder of
the week her greatest success, "Lena

Kentucky Romance," which she has been
playing at the Lyric the first part of the
week, stamps her as an actress of eharm
ami skill. "Lena Rivers" has been seen

Miss Poynter has made such a hit in the
role that it is impossible for her to be
