FOR S9OO UNPAID NOTES
Reviving an old account, the Central
Bank and Trust Corporation, receiver
for the defunct Neal bank, instituted
suit today against the mayor and gen
eral council of College Park for S9OO.
The suit relates that three S3OO
promissory notes were given the bank
several years ago. The College Park
authorities, it Is alleged, failed to pay
the notes at their maturity.
SUICIDE DRAWS CHECK TO
PAY FUNERAL EXPENSES
JACKSONVILLE, FLA., Dec, 18.—H.
W. Knight, a retired lawyer, of Chi
cago, killed himself In the Osceola ho
tel in this city today by shooting. The
coroner found, during his investigation,
that the deceased lawyer had drawn a
check for S3OO on December 7 to cover
his funeral expenses.

Southern Commercial congress, is

northern Georgia towns in the inter, st

Business conditions in the South are
good, Mr. Daniel reports, and as p ..f
of the growth of this section of she
country, he declared that in no city or
town can there be found a vacant resi
dence or business house.
His chief mission is in organizing
commercial clubs in towns and (iiies
where there are no such boilie-. I>u -
ing the past year, he said, he has suc
ceeded in promoting 16a such organiza
tions. Mr. Daniel will speak to the u.
dents of the Girls High school this aft
ernoon on the development of the
South and the need of trained men and
women.
$50,000 BERKELE ESTATE
IS WILLED TO HIS WIDOW
Leaving his entire estate, valued at,
$50,000, to his wife, Mrs. Henrietta Bcr
kele, the will of the late John Berkele,
of the jewelry firm of Maier & Berkele,
was probated in the county court to
day'. Mrs. Berkele was made sole eX’ i>
utrix of the estate.
According to the will, the prep rty
was left to the disposition of Mrs. Ber
kele, with the confidence that she would
administer the estate wisely and taka
care of the children.
