Brookhaven Transfer To-day"
A report this afternoon had it that
at a final conference the Capital City
Club property committee would close
up the deal for the Brookhaven Club,
a proposition having been submitted
some time ago by the Brookhaven
Estates. The site is wanted by the
Capital City for a country club. The
Brookhaven property was sold this
morning so that the title might be
clearly in the Brookhaven Estates.
Progress of Peachtree Work.
The county convicts have practical
ly finished digging up the old asphalt
on the right-hand side of Peachtree
and will start at once on the opposite
side of the thoroughfare, going south.
They were working north of Four
teenth Street this morning. A sep
arate gang is following close behind
with rock, binder, etc., and the street
will soon be good for traffic between
Sixth and Fifteenth Streets.
Healey Building Delayed.
Two monster derricks, intended to
lift steel girders into ~’ace on the
Healey Building site, have not yet
come from the manufacturers, and the
work has been held up now some two
weeks. The daily loss to Mr. Healey
is considerable, since the job has not
been pushed following the completion
of foundation work. Enough steel Is
already on hand, but the derricks
have upset calculations.
