Democratic Behavior of Spanish
King Startles Dignified Min

PARIS. May f*.—King Alfonso's

to-day with a remarkable aerial ex

the Spanish King and his official

was one of the most inspiring sights
he had ever seen.
One of the most interesting fea
tures of the Spanish monarch's visit
has been his extreme democratic be

stand decorated with the royal colors
of Spain had been erected in which
Alfonso was to have sat while the
troops were reviewed. The chair in
which the King was to have sat was
of bronze.

The French press believes that the

France and Spain.
Before his departure for St Cyr.
Alfonso held a conference with For

question of Spain entering the triple

to Hear Nothing More on Mis

WASHINGTON. May 9.—In answer
to Colonel George Harvey’s charge,
made at a dinner in New York of
representatives from the trust compa
nies of America, to the effect that
Vice President Marshall's criticism of
the wealthy acted as an "incitement
to the predatory poor,” the Vice Pres
ident said to-day:
"if anybody will produce a public
utterance of mine for the curtailment
of accumulation or distribution of
honest wealth, except by a fair in
heritance tax, I will go to Wall Street
and personally apologize.
"In the course of a long profession
al career, however. I have asserted
that the witness who had knowledge
of fraud Invariably got mad when he
was interrogated as to the fraud.”
The Vice President at first was in
clined to take the matter as a joke.
He said, however, that lie wished to
have the affair closed and to hear
nothing more on the score of his mis
represented public utterances.

For Lung Trouble
It is a serious matter when the
lungs are affected. A trip away or
to a sanatorium is not only expen

home and friends. Some are bene

Eckman's Alterative is effective for
home treatment. For example:

stayed at home and commenced tak

began to improve, and the first week
in January, 1906, I resumed my regu

pounds, fully restored to health. It Is
now seven years since my recovery
has been effected, and I can not
praise Eckman's Alterative too high
