Spiritual Wealth as Well as
Worldly Riches Needed, Reso

The closing session of the confer
ence of the Laymen's Missionary
Movement of the Southern Presbyte
rian Church was marked by two im
portant features. First of these was
the adoption of the following policy
for the work of the movement during
the coming year:
“1. We recommend that we hold a
conference in every presbytery in
connection with the regular fall
meetings, or at such other time as
may be found best for the purpose of
arousing men to more activity in all
lines of church work.
“2. That we co-operate with the
executive committee of foreign mis
sions in the effort to bring individuals
and churches up to a full support of
missionaries.
“3. That, as the members of our
general committee in each presbytery
are being appointed members of the
systematic beneficence committee, we
issue at once a leaflet on the oppor
tunity and duty of the committee to
assist our men, and that we likewise
issue a leaflet on the work of the mis
sionary committee in the local church.
“4/ That, in view of the fact that
development of the spiritual life is
at the foundation of all permanent
enlistment of men, v/e endeavor this
year to lead our men to more definite
Bible study.”
The other important feature of this
cession of the conference was the de
cision to .hold, at some time in Au
gust, a oonvention of the Laymen’s
Mission arte Movement at Red Springs,
