Peachtree Lease.
Announcement was made in real es
tate circles Friday of the sale of a
house and lot on Bedford Place and of
the transfer of two parcels on Mitch
ell Street and a Washington Street
house and lot. There has also been a
sale of a West Peachtree parcel at a
record rate and the sale of a residence
in the Druid Hills section, definite an
nouncement of which will be made
later. A Peachtree lease has also been
made.
O. F. Feil has bought from J. W.
Gresham, of the Gresham Manufac
turing Company of Griffin, through H.
W. Grant, of the R. O. Cochran Com
pany, 285 Bedford Place, 60 by 125, for
$10,000. This is a two-story slate-
roof house at the southeast corner of
Bedford Place and East Fifth Street
and is near Ponce DeLeon Avenue.
The seller built the house for invest
ment. He is also the builder for the
Selig apartments on Washington
Street and of several other local

Mitchell Street Lots Bought.
Bonds for title gone to record have
conveyed 14 East Mitchell Street for

Trust Company Building.
An expected move in changing the
name of the Equitable Building has
been made. Hereafter this structure
will be known as the Trust Company
of Georgia Building, after the concern
which owns it. Workmen are busy
chiseling out the name, “Equitable
Building,” over the entrance on the
Edgewood Avenue side, and will sub
stitute the new designation.
The Equitable was the first office
building of size in Atlanta. It was
built through a loan made to Joel
Hurt and others by the Equitable Life
Insurance Company, and from that
company got its name. So wap the
present Grant Building known as the
Prudential until a certain stage in its
financial career, when Its name was
likewise changed.
E. M. Fischer Buye Colonial.
E. M. Fischer was the lucky bidder
at Ralph O. Cochran’s auction Thurs
day afternoon of W. C. Harper’s colo
nial house at 101 West Tenth Street
The price paid was $10,125. A good-
sized crowd attended and the bidding
was lively.
Many Inquiries for Lots.
J. T. Elliott, owner, and John H.
James, auctioneer, report many in
quiries for the 40 lots which they will
auction Saturday at the corner of
Ashby and Simpson Streets. These
lots make up two city blocks, bounded
by the two streets mentioned, and by
Proctor, Norfolk and Cairo Streets.
The river car line runs by the prop
erty on a ten-minute schedule. The
auction will start at 3 o’clock, and
