terest attaches to the marriage
of Miss Lila Evans to Dr. Ohu
Harrington Longlno, first lieutenant,
C. A. jC., U. S. A., of Fort Screven, at
Christ Episcopal Church, Savannah,
on August 28.
A marriage in which there was
much interest was that of Miss Clara
Millen and James E. Haskln, which
was solemnized Tuesday night at 8
o'clock by the Rev. M. F. Roberts a:
Rev. Mr. Roberts’ residence on Aber-
corn street.
The marriage of Miss Adelaide
Guerrard, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
WiUUm P. Guerrard, to William
James McNlsh, of San Francisco, took
place Tuesday morning at 11 o’clock
at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. The
pastor, the Rev. S. B. McGlohon, of
ficiated.
Miss Lillian T. Johnson and Rich
ard F. Lovett were married Tuesday
afternoon at St. Patrick’s Church, the
Rev. Father O’Hara officiating. Miss
Jennie V. Reilly was bridesmaid.
Jaimes H. McGrath was best man.
Miss Harriett Christine Dennett and
Frederick C. Schwarz were married at
8 o’clock Monday evening at the par
sonage of St. Paul's Lutheran Church
by the pastor, the Rev. M. J. Epting.
Miss Josephine Slater and C. W.
Patrick were married by the Rev.
Samuel J. White, pastor of the Sec
ond Christian Church, in his study at
6:30 o’clock Wednesday night. Both
of the young people are from Pem
broke. They were accompanied to
Savannah by W. H. Brewton, W. C.
Lanier and Miss Pearl Olive. Mr.
Patrick is postmaster at Pembroke.
The party returned to Pembroke in
the evening.

M ACON.-Aug. IS—A wedding of
much Interest Thursday after
noon was that of Miss Augusta
L. Hines to Luther W. Green at tha
residence of the bride’s brother, Rich
ard H. Hines, on High street. The
young couple left for a wedding trip
to the North.
Mies Gladys Ponder entertained
Friday afternoon in honor of her
guest. Miss Ruth Ponder, of Forsyth.
Misses Namie Hardin, Nadine Cal
laway, Kathleen Gilliam and Kathe
rine King entertained Thursday night
at an old-fashioned cooking party at
the residence of Mrs. W. R. Hardin on
Park place. A camp stove was placed
in the yard and the young hostesses
themselves did the cooking. A de
lightful sunper had been arranged and
was served direct from the stove to
the guests, who were seated at tables
in the yard beneath the trees. After
ward the guests adjourned to the home
of B. Gilham for an evening of vocal
and instrumental music.
Mrs. Homer Parker and little
daughter, of Statesboro, are visiting
the former’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. E.
Y. Mallary.

the approaching marriage of her
daughter, Marian Dunbar, to Thomas
