He Is the grandson of Benjamin Cud-

ORGAN RECITAL.
Notwithstanding the exceedingly In
clement weather of Tuesday evening, a
number.of muslc-lovera and critic* as
tembled at* the splandfd new First
Baptist church to enjoy a program of
rare excellence, both vocal and Instru
mental.
Th* size of the audience which
braved the fierce elements Tuesday
evening Indicated that had the weath
er bsen In any wise propitious, the
seating capacity of the church would
have bsen taxed to Its utmost.
The organ numbers by Mr. J. P.
O’Donnelly were beautifully rendered,
and embraced selectlans from the
most celebrated composers of organ
music. Mr. O'Donnelly’a mastery of
the magnificent new organ was com
plete and absolute, and was delightful
ly evidenced In the varied composi
tions played by him. Tha solos by
Mr*. Peyton E Todd, Miss Marguerite
Dunlap and Messrs. Davis and Scott
ware notable and delightful features
of the very artistically presented pro
gram. The chorus work was excep
tionally fins, Indicating the most
careful training and the most Intelli
gent appreciation of the genius of ihe
composers by the soloists, as well as by
ths chorus.
The quartet by Mrs. Todd, Mrs.
Elkins, Miss Dunlap and Mr*. Crsvls-
ton was especially enjoyable.
Mr. O'Dounelly and his splendid
choir and chorue achieved a brilliant
musical triumph on Tuesday evening
at the First Baptist church.
