The members of the Martha Rogers'
Aid Society arranged a pleasant cele
bration of the eighty-third birthday of
Mr*. Rogers recently. Members of the
various church societies of the Pres
byterian, Methodist and Bnpltst
churches were Invited, and a large plr-
nlc luncheon was served under the
wide-spreading pecan trees of the back
yard, the guests being received ami
entertained on the front lawn at the
home of Mrs. Rogers. Mrs. Rogers, de
spite her age, Is an active member
of the Baptist church. Bha wore nn
this celebration a handsome black silk
dress, thirty-dvr years old,'and a
handsome real I ace collar, forly-dve
years In her possession. It waa an un
usual and pleasant occasion for all
present.
