NOTHING MUCH BUT DOPE.
Hard luck not to be aide to play Monday.
The Crackers need all the games they can
get—and these affalra at home with the
Kaatern teams ought to bo tho easiest yet.
It la hnrd luck that Manager MuIIaney
did not see the- “live ball” now In hla
pjMoselon taken from the New Orleans
field. If he could swear that the twill was
"rung In” by Charley Frank his affidavit
to that effect would make Interesting read
ing over at headquarters In Little Hock.
Of course. It la morally certain that Frank
did "ring lu” that Identical ball. It Is
doubtful If even tho Hutchmsn would try
to deny that.
”1 look more like an nnarchlat than a

hit the Aragon Monday. "This managing
business Is not sll I used to think It was.
The manager always gets the worst of
everything. Coining over here, for exam
ple. I drew the only upper berth In the
ear. I guess the boys put It up

for they could not any of them sleep, nnd
they spent most of the night roaming

What chance has poor old Little Book

Birmingham won a remarkable game from

Nashville's battery Monday was Dugan

The trouble In NaahvlUe la “too much
Fisher.” This man started from nowhere
and with the aid of Charley Frank nud
other men put a team In Nnabvllle. lie
had two pennant wlnnera In succession and
made money. With this money he acquired
a majority of stock lu the Nashville com
pany and the controlling ownership In the
Athletic park diamond.
Then he sat down nnd proceeded to let
his graft run to seed. By cheap methods
he has brought baseball In NaahvlUe Into
dlerepnte and the attendance has fallen
away until there la llttlo left.
Heveral attempts have been made to re-
organise the Nashville association and put
It on *a better basis, but Fisher refuses to
withdraw- and as long as he Is mixed up
with It the better element la disinclined
to go Into the thing. ,
And there the matter stands. It seem*
to lie a case’ of "Fisher and uo baseball”
or "no Fisher and haaelmll.”
