conditions are dally Improving a, the
fall season advances.' California fruit
Is selling rapidly at prices quoted and
the receipts are not sufficient to hardly
supply, the demand.
Oranges are light supply, with price,
ruling high.
The demand for bananas Is soma
heavier, sales being readily mads at
fair prices.
Fruit la arriving exceptionally tine
for this season of the year.
Price of lemons has gone skyward,
having advanced *1.00 to *2.00 a box
at points of Importation. The supply
on the local market la very light, with
a stiff demand, and selling today at
*8.00 and 88.60 per box.
There are a few scattering cars of
watermelons coming In and are draw
ing fairly good prices, considering the
quality.
The chicken situation has been ex
tremely uncertain, receipts' being vary
light, with a very strong demand, with
prices considerably advanced.
Dressed poultry Is in good demand

Eggs continue' (Irm. with no Indica
tion of any perceptible change.
Ducks and geese are ranging In val
ues about as usual.
Celery Is coming In more freely and
he consumption Is much greater. Quo-
