A METH0DI8T A8K8 QUESTIONS.
To the Editor of The Georgian:
I want to ask the following questions
of the Protestant ministers ond lay
men, or anyone else who la not .con
nected with the church of Rome:
First. Where end from whence comes
the authority for changing God's Sab
bath from the seventh day of the week
to the first day, or man's Sunday?
Second. Front whence com** the au
thority for teaching the doctrine of an
eternal nnd a literal burning hell?
Third. From whence comes the nu-
tlw/ity for teaching th* doctrine, "That
when wo fall aaleep In death, we go at
once to our reward, either heaven or
hell?
Fourth. From whence come* the au
thority for teaching the doctrine of
"an Immortal soul, or any other part of
mnn which Is Immortal?"
My reason for not addressing these
question* to member* of the church of
Rome also Is this: The Homnn church
has come up and acknowledged that
she changed God's Sabbath to man’s
Sunday, a* Dan.. 7tli chapter, foretold.
If the Homnn rhurch Is right In her
tinlms, what Is the Pri.trstnnt world
keeping Sunday for. In pluee of God's
Sabbath?
anyone answers these few simple
question*. I will ask that they do so In
tho Engtl-h language, so thnt others
as well ns myself, who are without n
finished education, may understand
what Is said. I will nsk that they kind
ly rsfraln from offering any ■ proof to
sustain their position, which Is not con

DENATURED ALCOHOL AS FUEL
WILL REDUCE LOSSES BY FIRE
According to the beat authorities,
th* uie of denatured alcohol may bring
an entire revolution In modern meth
ods of heating and may have a per
ceptible effect upon thc Are loss of
tho country, and even affect favorably
Its death rate. The greatest reduction
tn th* fire too* will be through Its dis
placing coal and wood ror us* tn heat
ing living routuM. Tha most prolific
source nf fires as shown by the recent
report of Chief Cummings, of the At-
I ante Are department, woe from sparks
from chimneys, defective flues and
chimneys, and sparks fli’lnff from Are-
places. The combuatlon of gaaelted al
cohol la so complete that there Is not
only no ash. but ho sparks and nn
smoke. The carbon of alcohol ts con
verted completely Into heat, water and
carbonic acid and proof that the com
bustion Is perfect Is found In the fact
that there Is no yellow In the Item* as
there Is In wood and coal. In the In-
h ■
forest of hestth, alcohol Is preferable
for warming rooms, because no carbon
monoxide In formed by the burning.
This gas Is directly destructive to Ilf*
and Is commonly known os cool gas.
Anckhcr advantage of th* alcohol
st’ove* that may soon com* In ts that
being, open, much nf the water pro
duced by (he combustion will escape
into thc room lh tho form of vapor-1
this vapor Increase* one's feeling of)
warmth so that the actual temperature'
of the room need not be kept so high.,
This Is on the same principle that a
damp day in summer seems so mtjch
hotter than a dry day. If It Is found
that this form af alcohol can be pro-.

bllltlcs are that It can, U will, without;
doubt, displace other forme of fuel to a I
large extent. As this alcohol can be I
produced from all forms of vegetable
life, there le a reasonable possibility
that a new ere will shortly dawn which
will bring about the dwindling of the
coal and wood bills to a site where that
ordinary man will find them no to
an Insufferable burden.
