Moultrie. Qa« Jan. 28.—Mrs. Marga
ret Price, who was probably the oldest
woman In the atate. died at her home
neor llorkan In thla county Friday
morning and waa burled at Old Kimball
church Friday afternoon.
There was no definite record of the
age of Mrs. Price, but perfectly relia
ble Investigation of her age In recent
year* establishes the feet that ahe waa
not leaa than 107 or more than 110
years old. She was the widow of Wtlltn
Price, who tons a veteran of the Sem
inole Indian war and was killed In the
civil war. She waa born In Madison
county. Florida, but had lived In this
county for 70 yonr*. and waa among
the first settlers of what waa u pine
wilderness
Mrs. Price lived In three centuries,
having been born In the eighteenth
century, lived through the nlnoteenlh
and Into the| twentieth century. Hhc
lived to aee her only son die of
age. Hhe waa a woman of remarkable
vitality and energy, and until-she was
100 years old did her own work, su
perintended her farm and looked after
her herd of cattle. Her eyesight and
hearing remained good until the last,
and her memory was never clouded In
the least.

however, the burglar only ran the fust-

Abbeville, On., Jan. 28.—W. IL C’ara
wed. a cltlxen iihot here Friday night,
died at 2 o’clock Bunday morning and
Interment took place here Sunday aft
ernoon. Dr. McReo, of Atlanta was
summoned Friday night No operation
was performed, as the patient was
loo weak. He leaves a wife and six
children, and was of a prominent fam
ily.
His brother. Frank (’arawell. shot
through the thigh, has a bad wound,
but Is doing w ell. He .will recover.
Lamnr Carswell. Frank Carswell’s
»n. had Ills face and head badly cut.
hut Is doing nicely and will soon he up.
Fletcher Mcl<eod, the boy 15 years
old. shot through the stomach by a
stray ball, was taken to Atlanta yes
terday by Dr. McRea. suffering from a
cry serious wound, hut is doing well
and may recover.
Hlrman*. charged with the cutting. Is
out under bond and has gone home to
rilnch county.
Jim Brophey,' charged with the shoot
ing, Is at large. He is expected to
come In and surrender.
The*'general sentiment here favors
the students. They were considered by
some as Justifiable. All are quiet hoys.
