teach in Ludowici, Ga.
Miss Josephine Smith was called
home Tuesday on account of the sud
den deaths of her grandmother, Mrs.
Mary Tommy, and her grandfather,
Mr. Powell. The Record extends its
sympathy to Miss Smith.
Miss Clemmie Newton Willingham
will leave Friday to teach in Dawson,
Ga.
Mr. J. W. Carter is on the sick list
this week. We wish him a speedy re
covery.
Mr. Dowman Wilson left Sunday
to resume his studies at llyon Heart
College, Waleska, Ga.

ENTERTAINED
Mrs. R. H. Still entertained the
Afternoon Bridge Club Thursday
afternoon at her home on Milstead
Avenue.
The living room, where bridge was
played, was decorated with cut flow
ers.
Mrs. Rachel Pippin won top score,
a luncheon set; and Mrs. H. G. McEl
vanoy won low score, a box of guest
soap.
A delicious salad course was served.

Legends of “True Cross
There Is no authentic Information

which Jesus was crucified. Legends
on the subject are legion. The alleged
fragments of the cross preserved ns

palm, olive, cedar and cypress—rep
resenting the four quarters of Hie
globe. A more poetic legend says Iho
