METHODIST WOMAN’S ZONE .
MISSIONARY MEETING AT
I’ORTEKDALK
The Missionary Societies of Oxford,
('ovingUtn, North Oovlugton, Porter
dale and Conyers held a group meet
ing in PonteMble’s handsome Meth
odist church, 'rimrsday afternoon, Oct
3rd. M*isdain*s W. O. Mann, CNirl
Kims, Carter and Mias Cora
Ism Elliott filled their care ho Con
yers laid the best delegation of any ex
cept tin* hostess Auxiliary. Conyers,
therefore, brought hark the attendance
banner, given until the next meeting,
by Mrs. .1. O. Brand of Montieello
DLst .Soft. The general attendance was
good.
As this was the first meeting under
the new grouping, time whs required
for the organization. Mm Rolit. Fow
ler of Oovinytton was elected President
of the Zone organization. Oxford dis
trict is divided into thrde zones. The
general subject of thLs year’s devotlon
iils is Stewardship, no the devotional
exercises led by Mrs. J. M. La setter,
was on this subject, from Matthew’s
parable of the, talents.
After devotional exercises and or
ganization, reports were had 1 from
Auxiliary Suierintendents of sup
plies. Our own Mrs. W. O. Mann
brought up tlie best report, according
to membership, on funds for the Au
gusta Bethlehem House. She brought
out when asked, that the best way to
raise the needed moneys for the Lord’s
work “ is simply go after it”, un
til it is secured.
Full details in regard to Bible and
Mission Study were given .One of the
most enlightening reviews of one of our
adult books, ‘‘Roads to the <Uty of
God”, was given by Mrs. Robt. Fow
ler, Covington, Supt. of Study. Her de
n ription of the hulks’ contents, made
us anxious to study it.
Tlie main address, or stirring heart
to-heart appeal on Stewardship, not on
ly of money but of time, the whole of
the individual’s responsibilities, was
given most earnestly and effective by
Mrs. Norton, wife of the lithonia pas
tor.
All felt that it was indeed good to be
there. All gained renewed inspiration
nnd determination to better efforts.
Let us urge those Who did not go
with those who did, to renew efforts
nnd interest, attend our meetings, do
each her part to bring up a completed
budget by the close of the Fourth
Quarter. Here much remains to be
done!
