vegetable crops of south Georgia severely in

because of the damage to oats.
In business circles the merchants report
the farmers practically out of debt and buy.

The death of M. T. Polk, the defaulting
treasurer of Tennessee, in Nashville, closes
a sad history, and the usual amount of casu
alty and adventure is reported from other
