C. W. on Inst Saturday. Mrs. Bank-
-ston reached Milledgeville on Fri
day and was the guest of Miss Leni
Moore. On Friday afternoon Mrs. J.
L. Beeson, who is the State Chairman
of the Historical Essay contest for
Georgia, entertained Mrs. Bankston

On Saturday morning Mrs. Trox
Bnnkston was a guest at the G. S.
C. W. .at the chapel service. After the
opening exercises, Mrs. Bankston was
presented to the large body of school
teachers by Mrs. Beeson in a few
happy remarks. Mrs. Bankston said
she considered it a high honor to be
invited to talk to so many school
teachers. In her address she urged
them to teach the truths of history
to the children. Her uddress was ap
preciated by the large audience. A
delightful luncheon way served Mrs.
Bankston.

On last Tuesday night Mrs. Luddic
Wood, wife of Mr. I. M. Wood, died
at her home in Hancock county near
here, after a lingering illness. The
funeral was held at her home by her
pastor. Rev. J. F. Fulghum, after
which the body was tenderly laid to
re>t in the Harrison cemetery. She
leaves a husband, four sons and five
grand-children to mourn her going
