A C. M. E. CONFERENCE TO BE
HELD HERE
There will be a conference of the
C. M. E. church held in Milledge
ville next week, which will b^ing
more than a hundred delegates to th
city. The conference will open Tuto
day night with Bishop R. A. Carter
presiding. Rev. Kelley, the local
jr, has arranged a program for
the opening exercises. Bishop Car
ter, who is one of the ablest colored
preachers in the State, will preach
at the C. M. E. church Sunday,
October 6th.
Dr. Marvin Parks and Dr. J. E.
Kidd were «n the group too. I had
the pleasure of associating with them
after I had passed out of my teen3
and stepped over the threshold of
manhood. The many pleasant en
joyable conversation, that I had with
them will go with me through life.
There were others in the picture
that I still have the pleasure of
associating with.
