Pour cold water in bowl and
iprinklo gelatin on top of water,
using:
envelope Knox Sparkling Gela
tine.
1-4 cup cold water
Add:
1 1-2 cup hot pineapple juice
1-4 cup sugar
1-4 Tablespoonful salt
1-4 cup mild Vinegar
Cool and when mixture begins
congeal add:
1 1-2 cups pineapple, cut in small
piece*.
1 cup raw carrots, grated
1 cup chopped nuts
Turn into mold that has been
rinsed in cold water and chill.
Servo on lettuce leaf garnished

1 quart water
2 cups sugai
3 cups orange juice
3 grated orange rinds
1-4 cup lemon juice
Make a syrup by boiling the water
with sugar for five minutes. Add
the fruit juices and grated rinds
Strain, cool, and freeze.
Cheese Biscuits
3-4 cup grated cheese
3-4 cup flour
1-4 cup shortening
Cayenne
1 tgg yolk
Mix the cheese and flour, then cut
the shortening into the mixture: add
a little cayenne pepper and moisten
with the yolk of the egg. Roll out
to 1-4 inch thick, cut into long, nar
row strips and bake in a very hot
oven (500 Degrees F.) five to seven
minutes.

CHOSEN BY REGENTS
TO HEAD UNIVERSITY

Dr. Marmon W. Caldwell, dean of
Lupipkin Law School at the Univer
sity of Georgia for the past two
years, was named president of the
University by the Board of Regents
to succeed Dr. S. V. Sanford. Dr.
Caldwell will assume his new duties
on July 1, the date on which Dr.
Sanford becomes chancellor of the
university system.
The new president of the university
is only 36 years old and will be the
youngest president of a state univer
sity, and probably of any university
in the country. He is a native of At
lanta und was graduated from
Boys' High School and the Univer
sity of Georgia, completing his law
studies at Harvard.
Judge Lucian Goodrich of Griffin
was named dean of the Lumpkin
Schorl of Law to succeed Dr. Cald
well.
