riage of Miss Amelia Home, daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Adrian Home, to
Mr. William Tennille, son of Mr. and
Mrs. A. C. Tennille.
The marriage was solmnized on
January 20th in Aiken, S. C., and
kept a secret until this week.
The marriage of this popular young
couple was of widespread interest
throughout the city.
Mrs. Tennille is the second daugh
ter of Mayor and Mrs. Home. Her
charming personality and attractive
brunette beauty have won for her
a wide circle of friends and she
is considered one of Milledgeville’s
most attractive and popular young
women. She was a student at the
Georgia State College for Women.
Mr. Tennille graduated at G. M.
C., early this month, and was ac
corded many honors. He was cap
tain of Co. D. which tied as the best
drilled company. He also won third
honors, the second alternate appoint
ment to West Point, the golf champ
ionship and was considered one of
the most popular young men on the
campus. He was a star athlete also.
Mr. and Mrs. Tennille are now on
a house party at St. Simons and
will return to Miliedgeville in about
ten days to make their home with
Mayor and Mrs. Home.

MISS BEULAH MEEKS BECOMES
THE BRIDE OF MR. J. DAVIS
CARR ON SUNDAY.
Beauty and simplicity marked the
marriage ceremony on last Sunday
wh*ch united Miss Beulah Meeks, of
Ocilla to Mr. John Davis Carr, of
this city. The ceremony was per
formed at (four o’clock at the First
Baptist church, in the presence of
large gathering of relatives and
friends. Rev. W. B. Feagin. pastor
of the Baptist church of Baxley, per
formed the ceremony.
The church was beautiful with an
arrangement of ferns, smilax, and
floor baskets of gladoli of pastel
shades forming a background for
the impressive ceremony. On either
side of the altar were nine pronged
Cathedral Candelabra holding white
tapers.
Preceeding the ceremony a pro
gram of nuptial music was given
by Mr. A. L. Castellano and Mrs.
J. L. Paulk. Mrs. Castellano pre
sided at the organ.
The ushers were Messrs A. T. Ful
ler. Robert Tankersley, Jack Willis
and Louie Wall entered in pairs.
Little Billie Harris dressed in a white
satin suit, acted as ring bearer. The
dainty flower girls were Mary and
Martha Fuller. Their dresses
of peach and orchid organdie with
picture hats to match and they
ried nosegays.
Miss Grace Paulk, maid'of honor
anly only attendant of the bride,
wore a pnik mousseline de soi after -
t dress of coat style. Her picture

bouquet was of brides roses show
ered with valley lillies.
The bride presented a picture of
lovliness in an afternoon frock of
the same material and styled like

Mr. Carr entered with his best
man, Mr. George Marr, of Milledge-
ville.
After the ceremony a reception
as held at the home of the bride
for members at the family and a
few close friends, after which Mr.
and Mrs. Carr left for a bridal trip

They will be at home to their friends
after July 15th.
