What do the Physicians Say ?
Listen to the testimony of an eminent physician in
favor of M’Lane’s Vermifuge, which is now universally
acknowledged to be the best in use, even members of the
medical faculty (who are so often opposed to the use of
patent medicines,) cannot withhold their approval of this
invaluable remedy:
Lind, Stark Cos. Ohio, Jan. 8, 1849.
I have used Dr M’Lane’s Worm Specific in my private
practice, and am prepared to say that the unparalleled sue
ees/ with which I have prescribed its use. both for children
and idults, induces me to say the most in its favor of any
specific or patent medicine ever before brought to my no
tice. The mode of administration, the smallness of the
dose, and the certainty of its efficacious effects, give it, in
my opinion, a decided advantage over any vother medicine
of the kind before the public.
Purchasers will please he careful to ask for DR. M’LANE’S
CELEBRATED V ERMIFUGE, andj take none else. All other
Vermifuges, in comparison, are worthless. Dr. iM’Lanes gen
uine Vermifuge, also his Celebraled Liver Pills, can now
be had at all respectable DrugStoresin the United States and
Canada*
by all the Druggists in Columbus, and by one

A Secret for the Ladies.
How to Preserve Health.— Don’t use Chalk, Lily
White, or any of the so-called cosmetics, to conceal a fa
ded orsailow complexion.
If you would have tie roses brought back to your cheek,
a clear, healthy and transparent skin, and life and vigor
infused through the system, get a bottle of Carter’s
Spanish Mixture, and take it according to directions. It
does not taste quite as well as your sweet meats; but, if
after a few doses you do not find your health and beauty
reviving, your step elastic and vigorous, and the whole
system refreshed and invigorated like a Spring morning,
then you case is hopeless, and all the valuable certificates
we possess, go for naught. It is the greatest purifier of the
blood known; is perfectly harmless, anti at the same time
powerfully efficacious. For sale by

MARRIED,
On the 10th inst., at St. John’s Church, by the Rev. Geo.
Clark, Mr. Thomas B. Clark, of Knoxville, Tenn., to Miss
Eliza Jessie Crisp, eldest daughter of Mr. Wm. 11. Crisp,
ofSavannah.
OBITUARY.
DIED, in this city, on Monday 12? h inst., aftpr a pro
tractedillness of typhoid fever, Mr. Leonard Me'lick, in
the 22d year of his age, a native of Rahway, N. .1.
Mr. M. came South about a year ago and resided at
Augusta, in this State, up to the time ot his coming to
this place a few months since. He had, in connection with
others, just opened a clothing store in our midst, and seem
ed to be entering upon life with the fairest prospects of
success. But all his glowing expectations have been nip
ped in the bud. and his young golden dreams put out in
the night of death. Although a stranger here, he had by
his gentlemanly demeanor, and kind and amiable disposi
tion, won a number of warm-hearted friends, who did all
for him in his last hours that friendship could suggest.—
But, alas ! neither the most flattering prospects for the fu
ture, the generous and ennobling qualities ot his nature, or
the tenderest sympathies of weeping strangers could avert
the fatal darts of the Insatiate Archer. Friend, thou art
fallen ! requiescat en pace. •

PERRY DAVIS’
OPINIONS OF THE PRESS.
take pleasure in referring ihe reader to the testimo-
W ui Is of our prominent druggists and well known citi
zens to the virtue of Davis’ Pain K-.ller. We have used the
article and found it valuable. The sale of this article in the
United States is beyond all precedent, as the books ot the ot
flee will show. —Cincinnati Commercial.
Davis’ Vegktablk Paim Killer. — Wereferour readers to
an advertisement with the above caption, in the advertising
columns of this morning’s Eagle. We first heard of this med
icine during a recent visit to the New England States, and be
ing struck with the novelty of the title, we were induced io
make some enquiry about it, and were surprised to learn that
it was kept constantly in the houses of most of the inhabi
tants ot the cities and villages where we stoj ped, to be used
in cases of sudden attacks of pain, burns, scalds, &c., and we
heard it spoken oi in terms n os high commendation by both
druggists and physicians. Tuts much weean with propriety
say asjourualists,in favor of thearticle.—[Philadelphia Eagle.
Pekry Davis’ /kgktablk Pain Kil>xr. —Voluntarily,
conscientiously, and with much pleasure, we recommend *.o
our readeis the above named medicine. We speak from our
own observation and experience when we say that it removes
pain as it bv migic from all parts of the body, and is one of
the best medicines in use for checking Diarrhoea, and lor re
moving the premonitory s \ mptomps of cholera. It is applied
both internaliv and externally, with the heat effects, and none
who have once used the Pain Killer would willingly be with
out it constantly in thei* houses.—[Cincinnati Eve. Nonpareil.
Davis’Paiv Killer —This article needs no comment from
us, but the real worth of so valuable a compound, compels us
to givepublicity to it, in ourTransciipt. Mi *err> Devis, tbe
manufacturer and inventor, is a gentleman tc whom we enter
tain the highest respect, and any article he should offer to the
public we should have the Six’most c mfldence in. The Pain
Killer we keep constantly on hand, and have done so for a num
ber of yearA, and have adminiMered it tor ails of all descrip
tions, both external and internal, and have ever found it to be
toe best remedy extant. We well rcollect its first introduction
lor public patronage; it was then sold “in a few shops in this
city; look at it now. the world are itg patrons. A few days ago
we published a certificate from burrnah, and we have often
seen them from the most remote habitable regions of the globe.
Reader, if you have not a supply on hand, (we trust you
have, asit isalmost indispensable) procureit at once, and nev
er be without it again—lt will save many a physician’s bill.—
