FOOTE TO PREACH.
Rev. W. R. Foote has accepted
an invitation to preaoh to the
colored people at the African
Methodist church in this place
next Sunday evening at 8 o’olock.
The pastor, Rev. TFilliains extend
ed an urgent invitation, aud will
be present at the service. Mr.
Foote enjoys preaching to the
colored people, aud rarely ever
misses an opportunity to do so.
He says that since he has been in
Commerce, he has been favorably.

and he regards them as being re
markably peaceable and law abid
ing people.
COnMERCE VS ATHENS.
Play ball. Thats what we are
going to do. The Moscogee team
of the Athens Normal, will cross
bats with the 4th and sth grades
of the Commerce school iu this
city, April 6th at 8:30 p. m. on
the play ground at the school
building. Admission, children
