brate its 157 th church anniversary
on Sunday, November 18, at 3
p.m.
The Rev. Glen Hendrick and

Thanksgiving Meal
Set At Hudson River
Hudson River Baptist Church
will hold its Thanksgiving dinner
following the morning worship
service Sunday, November 18.
Sunday School is held at 10
a.m., worship service starts at
11 a.m.
Everyone is welcome. Those
attending are asked to bring a
covered dish for the meal planned
after the worship service.

Luncheon Set At
St. Catherine's Sun.
A “lunch on the lawn” is planned
Sunday, November 18, after the
11 a.m. Mass at St. Catherine
Laboure Catholic Mission to wel
come all new members of the
church.
All parishioners are encour
aged to attend. The Ladies Guild
of the parish, organizers of the
luncheon, promise great food
and fellowship.
A quilt raffle drawing will be
held after the 11 a.m. Mass on
Sunday. All raffle tickets need to
be turned in to Sue Carlson prior
to the drawing.

Choral To Sing
At Tuckston Dec. 2
Tuckston United Methodist
Church, Athens, will present “A
Christmas Card from the Athens
Master Chorale” on Sunday,
December 2, at 4 p.m.
The concert includes the Alfred
Burt Carols, three settings of Ave
Maria (by Arcadelt, Biebl and
Lauridsen) and Daniel Pinkham’s
Christmas Cantata. Admission is
free.

Fall Bazaar
Set At Homer
Presbyterian Sat.
Homer Presbyterian Church
will hold its annual fall bazaar
Saturday, November 17, from 9
a.m. to 2 p.m. at the church.
Items will include Christmas
crafts, gifts and decorations,
homemade cakes and desserts
and a $1 secret Santa shop for
kids.
A bar-be-cue sack lunch will be
sold for $5. Lunches will include
a bar-be-cue pork loin sandwich,
chips, slaw and a drink.

The Ila Mens Fellowship will

denominational and meets every

Plans Concert
Athens Free Will Baptist Church
will host First Generation for a
singing on Saturday, November

'Women's
Weekend' Planned
At St. Paul Baptist
St. Paul First Baptist
Church, Jefferson, will host
its annual women’s weekend
“Women Walking Worthy on
the Battlefield for the Lord,”
Saturday, November 17, and
Sunday, November 18.
The conference will begin with
an Intercessory Prayer service
at 7:30 a.m., followed by a health
fair and breakfast at 8 a.m. on
Saturday, November 17. Praise
and worship will begin at 9 a.m.
Evangelist Annie Dukes of
St . Paul First Baptist Church,
Jefferson; evangelist Michelle
Willingby of Arnold Grove
Baptist Church, Arnoldsville;
and elder Johnnie Warmack of
Enon Baptist Church, College
Park, will be the guest speakers.
A “Women’s Day” celebration
will begin at 11 a.m. on Sunday,
November 18. Deaconess
Brenda Walker will be the inspi
rational speaker.

Enon Baptist Church, Monroe.
Covenant Blessings praise team,
Bethlehem, will bring the praise
and worship service. St. Paul’s
women’s choir will render spe
cial music under the direction of
Debra Colbert, Atlanta.

p.m.

Holiday Food
Distribution Ahead
Rising Families will distrib
ute food for a Thanksgiving
meal to be cooked at home on
November 19 starting at 10 a.m.
at Cave Springs Baptist Church,
located at 3274 Holly Springs
Road Pendergrass.
Only participants of the Food
for Life Program who have reg
istered will be served between
10 a.m. and 2 p.m. After 2 p.m.
those not pre-registered for the
meal will be served on a first-
come, first-served basis. Pre
registration has closed for this
meal. All participants must be
willing to wait in line and receive
counseling before being served
with food, organizers said.
Community volunteers are
needed to help distribute food
on this day to 400 families.

the Christmas meal will be avail
able in person at the church
on November 19 or after any
Sunday morning worship service
at Cave Springs Baptist Church.
