49 Sentenced In Superior Court
Sheriff's Deputies Make 25 Arrests
JEFFERSON - Forty-nine peo
ple were sentenced in Superior
Court proceedings last week, in
cluding the following:
• William Bentley possession
of oxycodone, four years proba
tion, $1,000 fine and waive fourth
amendment rights.
• Demetrius A. Preston, forgery,
three years in jail and two years
probation.
• Robert Carmichael, forgery,
six years probation and $2,000
fine.
•Junior Evans, possession of
marijuana with intent to distribute,
$2,000 fine, waive fourth amend
ment rights, six years probation
and two months confinement.
• Robert Behles, aggravated
stalking, 30 days in jail, five years
probation, $1,000 fine, no contact
with the victim and banished from
Piedmont Circuit.
•Joyce Albers Richardson, theft
by receiving stolen property, 12
months probation and restitution.
•Jody Randall Fields, posses
sion of methamphetamine, pos
session of methamphetamine
with intent to distribute and pos
session of marijuana, 13 years
probation, two years in confine
ment, waive fourth amendment
rights, $2,000 fine and 12 months
probation.
• Steve Young, possession of
carsprodol with intent to dis
tribute and possession of hydro-
codone, 180 days in jail, 12 years
probation, $1,000 fine and waive
fourth amendment rights.
• Robert Lee Evens, possession
of methamphetamine, $1,500 fine,
five years probation and waive
fourth amendment rights.
• Gheorghe Germanaru, two
counts of battery, six months in
jail, one year probation, $800
fine, family violence intervention
program, no contact with victim
or family and banishment from
Gwinnett, Jackson, Fulton and
Forsyth counties.
•Robby Corpening, posses
sion of cocaine and possession of
MDMA, $2,000 fine, six years pro
bation and waive fourth amend-
ment rights.
•Judy Garrett, aka Judy Smith,
two counts of child molestation,
seven years in jail, 33 years proba
tion, $2,000 fine, no contact with
victim and register as a sexual of
fender.
•Andres Rivas, aggravated as
sault and two counts of battery,
one year probation, $2,000 fine,
family violence and intervention
program, no contact with victim
and 100-120 days in a detention
center.
•Sylvester Smith, drug traffick
ing (reduced to possession of co
caine), 15 years probation, $7,500
fine and waive fourth amendment
rights.
•Kevin Joe Daniel, aggravated
assault, six years confinement
and no contact with victim.
•Ricky Greg Finch, simple bat
tery, 12 months probation, $500
fine and no contact with victim.
A charge of possession of hydro-
codone was dismissed.
•Stevie Everett Brannon, pos
session of marijuana, possession
of methamphetamine, possession
of marijuana and possession of
marijuana with intent to distrib
ute, waive fourth amendment
rights, 12 months probation, and
$3,500 fine.
•Ralph David, possession with
intent to distribute drugs, waive
fourth amendment rights, $1,000
fine, seven years probation and
120-180 days in a detention cen
ter.
•Warren Craig West, posses
sion of methamphetamine and
giving a false name to law en
forcement officers, waive fourth
amendment rights, 30 days in jail,
100-120 days in a detention center
and 12 months probation.
• Michael Chapman, sexual
offender, 10 years to serve, one
month confinement and register
as a sex offender.
• William Chandler McDougald,
possession of methamphetamine,
waive fourth amendment rights,
$1,000 fine, eight years probation
and four to six months in a deten
tion center.
•Bruce Hill, three charges of pos
session of cocaine, possession of
cocaine with intent to distribute,
possession of methamphetamine,
possession of methamphetamine
with intent to distribute, three
charges of possession of mari
juana with intent to distribute,
possession of marijuana, and pos
session of MDMA with intent to
distribute, waive fourth amend
ment rights, 11 years probation,
four years in confinement, six
months in a diversion center, ten
years probation and $4,000 fine.
•Derek Howard, criminal at
tempt to distribute hydrocodone
and battery, waive fourth amend
ment rights, $1,600 restitution,
$500 fine, four years probation
and nine months confinement.
•James Hunter, possession of
cocaine with intent to distribute
and possession of cocaine, six
years probation, 120-180 days in a
detention center, $2,000 fine and
waive fourth amendment rights.
•James Ronald Hardigree, five
charges of battery, 12 months
probation, $2,000 fine, family vio
lence intervention program and a
non-violent communication pro
gram.
•Jamie Hall, financial card fraud
and forgery, six years probation,
$500 fine and $1,252 restitution.
•Benjamin Butler, possession of
methamphetamine, waive fourth
amendment rights, three years
probation and $1,000 fine.
•Brian K. Buckery, possession
of marijuana with intent to dis
tribute, possession of cocaine,
possession of amphetamine and
possession of marijuana, waive
fourth amendment rights, eight
years probation, 60 days in jail
and $1,500 fine.
•Abel Garcia, aggravated as
sault and child molestation, 24
years probation, 16 years in con
finement, $3,000 fine, no contact
with victim and no contact with
any child under 16 years old.
•Leah Barton, burglary (re
duced to theft by taking), 10 years
probation, one year confinement
and $1,000 fine.

through the fence, broke the lock
off the gate and cut a security
cable. They also tried to steal a
go-cart, but apparently could not
get it loaded.
•terroristic threats and acts
at Crossing Place Apartments
where a juvenile allegedly chased
other juveniles around the park
ing lot with a knife. The arrest
ing officer talked to the alleged
offender, who said he went to
the apartment complex to see a
friend, saw his brother and sister
being punched and pushed by
a group of juveniles, and pulled
the knife. He denied threaten
ing or chasing other kids. The
victims told police that there was
no punching or pushing of the
perpetrator’s siblings. The offi
cer filed a juvenile complaint,
according to the report.
•terroristic threats and acts at
a Lewis Circle residence, where
a 45-year-old white female said
her husband’s brother called
and threatened to kill her, appar
ently while under the influence
of drugs. The victim said the
man makes such calls regular
ly, and on this particular occa
sion said, Tm going to kill you,
bitch,” before closing with “I love
you, bye.” The officer was later
called back to the same resi
dence, where the victim and a
witness said the man was appar
ently high again and called to
request money to be given to his
daughter. He also told them to
have “the International Security
Association” come get him at
a Carnesville address. The offi
cer stated that warrants will be
taken.

Thieves Steal $4,000 Of Copper In Hoschton
Thousands of dollars worth of
copper wire was stolen from a
construction site in Hoschton.
Some $4,000 worth of copper
wire was taken from the con
struction site for Publix, located
at Hwy. 124 and Hwy. 332 in Ho-
schton.
Copper wire was also taken
from a box at a Woods Creek
Road, Jefferson, location, and a
home under construction at a
Woods Creek Road, Jefferson,
address.
Other incidents reported to the
sheriff’s office last week includ-

ing site at a New Kings Bridge
