Hoschton Man Faces Multiple Charges
HOMER -- A Hoschton man
faces a host of charges after
leading Banks County and
Franklin County law enforce
ment officials on a chase that
lasted several miles on Inter
state 85 North last week.
Ray Anthony Klima, 21, of
334 Moons Bridge Road, faces
charges of driving under the
influence of alcohol, fleeing or
attempting to elude police of
ficers, reckless driving, operat
ing a vehicle with suspended
registration, excessive speed
ing, failure to maintain proper
lane, failure to obey stop signs
and failure to maintain insur
ance .
The Banks County Sheriff’s
Office received a call Nov. 21
of a possible drunk driver on
Hwy. 441 in the area of I-85. A
patrol unit in the area located
the vehicle and attempted to
have the driver pull over. How
ever, Klima instead continued
driving and went onto I-85
North, officials said.
The chase continued into
Franklin County at which time
officials with the Franklin Coun
ty Sheriff’s Office assisted with
the chase. Klima was eventually
stopped between Carnesville
and Lavonia.
Klima was booked into the
Banks County Jail where he
bonded out the following day
while he awaits an initial court
appearance.

Suspect Sought In Robbery At Car Wash
HOMER -- The Bic Car Wash
on Hwy. 441 in Banks County
was robbed Thursday morning
at approximately 9:30 and law
enforcement officials are still
searching for the suspect.
Banks County sheriff Charles
Chapman said a black male
driving a four-door, gold-col
ored Honda pulled into the car
wash and asked the attendant
for change for a $50 bill. When
the attendant, an elderly man,
went to give the man change
he was struck in the face with
a flashlight and his wallet was
taken, the sheriff said.
BCSO officials were un
able to obtain a license num
ber from video surveillance
although the car was seen
leaving on Hwy. 441 South
traveling toward Commerce.
The suspect got an unknown
amount of cash.
Banks County paramedic
units also responded to the
scene to give aid to the atten
dant who was not seriously
hurt, Chapman said.
