Tries On A Mask

A Suit? Are You Kidding

Thursday at Wal-Mart. Twenty-two kids from
Jackson County and a like number from
Banks County were matched with police offi
cers and given $100 to spend on clothing and
$100 on toys or other items. Law enforcement
agencies from both counties participated.

Parole Denied For Convicted Murderer
The State Board of Pardons and
Parole recently denied parole for
Stanley McGuire, 40. McGuire
was convicted of malice mur
der in Jackson County Superior
Court in 1993 for the murder of
Lillian Starks, 34.
This was the second time the
parole board denied McGuire
parole.
On Oct. 31, 1992, a man was
fishing on a lake on Johnson
Farm in Jackson County when
Stark’s body surfaced. Authorities
arrived and removed Stark’s body
from the lake. Her mouth was
taped with duct tape and her
hands were bound behind her
back. A 21 and a half pound con
crete block was tied to her left leg.
Mrs. Stark’s cause of death was
drowning, indicating that she was
placed in the water while she was
still alive.

tence at Rutledge State Prison in
Columbus.
Georgia statute mandates that
all inmates serving life sentences
in the state’s prison system be
considered for parole at specified
intervals.

PUBLIC NOTICE
Terra Renewal of Russellville, Arkansas provides
wastewater residuals management services for food
processors throughout the Southeastern U.S.,
including six permitted operations in Georgia.
Food processing wastewater residuals are land
applied via subsurface injection for beneficial use as
fertilizer.
Terra Renewal is currently working on an
application to the Georgia Department of Natural
Resources to obtain a permit to land apply food
processing residuals to farmland near Maysville and
Gillsville communities in northeastern Jackson
County and southwestern Banks County.
Terra Renewal will conduct an informal public
meeting on Tuesday, January 22, 2008 at 6:00 P.M. at
the Maysville Library located at 9247 Gillsville Road,
Maysville, GA.
