Missions Conference Ahead At Homer Alliance Church
Homer Alliance
Church will hold
its 2008 Missions
Conference March
6, 7 and 9.
Services will
be at 6:30 p.m.
on Thursday and
Friday March 6-7,
and at 9:45 a.m., 11
a.m. and 6 p.m. on
Sunday March 9.
Rev. Gordon
and Cheryl
Roedding, mis
sionaries to Mali,
West Africa, since
1968, will speak
at the Thursday evening and
both Sunday morning servic
es. They’ve been involved in
church planting and leadership
training, teaching at the Bible
School in Koutiala, have been a
field director couple and most
recently ministered in Bamako,
the capital city of Mali. This year
they are missionaries in resi
dence at Toccoa Falls College,
where they teach
in the School of
World Missions
and tour with the
missions team,
“Proclamation.”
Proclamation,
will be the program
for the Friday
evening service.
Made up of stu
dents at Toccoa
Falls College, the
group uses drama
and music in its
mission.
Rev. Gordon
Strong, a mission
ary with his wife Jean since
1965, will lead the Sunday eve
ning service. They spent more
than 15 years as missionaries
in the Philippines, followed by
almost 20 years in Malaysia,
where they worked as dorm par
ents for missionary children.

Plans Easter Event
Maysville United Methodist
Church will host “Easter Egg
Bonanza” Saturday, March 15,
from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the new
church building, located across
from Maysville Elementary
School on Hwy. 98.
Children are invited to find
over 7,500 eggs in the egg
hunt that begins at 11 a.m. A
giant slide, first and goal, rock
climbing wall, castle and T-ball
game will also be available. Hot
dogs, popcorn and drinks will
be served. Live music will be
played from 11:45 a.m. to 4
p.m.

Supper Set At
Erastus March 8
Erastus Christian Church will
hold a “Hobo Supper” and silent
auction Saturday, March 8, from
5 to 7 p.m.
Plates will cost $6 each.
Children age five to seven can
purchase the meal for $3 each.
Chilren age four and under can
eat for free.

St. Catherine
Laboure To Hold
Council Election
St Catherine Laboure Catholic
Mission will be holding an
election for the Parish Council
on March 8 and 9 during the
Saturday and Sunday Masses.
Nominations to replace three of
the existing Parish Council mem
bers will be accepted through
Sunday, March 2. Any parishio
ner interested in serving should
contact Deacon Dale Lister, cur
rent Council chairman, prior to
March 2.
The Confirmation class is hav
ing a fundraiser after Mass for the
next few weeks to raise money
for new playground equipment
for the new Church. Teacher,
Tyna Duckett, can be contacted
for more details.
During Lent, Stations of
the Cross will be conducted
every Friday at 7 p.m. at St.
Catherine’s.

The featured guests will be the
Gipsons; other singers are also

Jolly Agers To Meet
The Jolly Agers will meet at

a covered-dish luncheon.
Singing Planned
The Baptist Tabernacle, located
south of Commerce on Hwy. 441,
will host Five Alive in Christ for
a singing on Saturday, March 8,
