CABIN CREEK AT COMMERCE EVENT
A group from Cabin Creek Baptist Church went to the Easter fes
tivities held recently in Commerce to hand out seeds, candy and
religious materials to the crowd.
Movie Night At
New Salem UMC
New Salem United Methodist
Church will have a movie night
on Wednesday, April 2, at 6:30
pm in the fellowship hall of the
church.
“Everyone is welcome to come
and bring a friend to watch
'Facing the Giants’," said church
leaders.
Popcorn and drinks will be pro
vided.

New Salem UMC
To Sell Chickenque
On Saturday, April 5, New
Salem United Methodist Church,
Commerce, will hold a chick
enque.
Meals will be served from noon
to 6 p.m. Meals will be eat in or
take out. Tickets are $6 and are
available through church mem
bers or by calling the church
office at 706-335-4401 and leav
ing a message.
The meal includes half of a
fresh hickory smoked chicken,
chips, slaw and a slice of home
made pound cake.
“Come enjoy a great meal and
fun and fellowship with members
of the community," organizers
said.

Native American
Sunday Planned
Homer United Methodist
Church will celebrate Native
American Awareness Sunday,
April 6, at both the 9 a.m. and
11 a.m. worship services. Christy
Gibson of Cornelia, member
of the church and six nations
Seneca of the Wolf Clan, Iroquois
nation, will be in full native dress
when she addresses both morn
ing congregations. Closely fol
lowing the liturgical calendar, the
pastor, the Rev. Jim McLendon,
will preach on an Easter sea
son theme, While Walking to
Emmaus (St. Luke 24:13-35). The
church’s Chancel Choir will sing.

east of the recently renovated
Veterans Memorial Park.

Breakfast Sunday
CommunityBrotherhood,will
hold its monthly breakfast pro
gram Sunday, April 6, at 7:30 a.m.
in the fellowship hall at Homer
United Methodist Church. The
Rev. Roy Rogers is president.
Brandon Brown, a local young
adult committed to Christ for
future fulltime Christian service,
will speak. Homer Methodist is
located at the corner of Sycamore
and Church streets and the break
fast is held in the church’s family
life center.

Homer United Methodist will
present for “Sunday Night at
the Movies," a new program,
which begins with dinner at 5
p.m. Sunday, April 6, and con
cludes with a DVD presenta
tion by Andy Stanley called
“Breakaway." Childcare will be
provided. Future sessions in the
six session series are scheduled
for April 20, May 4, May 18, June
8 and June 22. The public is invit
ed to attend. The church is locat
